Was wondering if anyone out there has any experience using the Panther C.A.T headset. If it does what it claims then it ought to be quit the piece to have.

Thanks for any info.

I tried it at the AOPA Expo in Palm Springs. Wasn't terribly impressed.

One of the GA flight rags, I think it was Aviation Consumer or something like that, did a review of Panther and one other in-the-ear headset. Bottom line I remember from scanning the article, the Panther worked, but with a lot of caveats like: custom ear mold, audio one side only, sometimes garbled transmissions, the fact that EVERY sound is transmitted to the intercom (can't just move that boom mike away for a sneeze, burp, etc.), and the unit sometimes just stopped working and then started again. The other brand, which had dual audio, a boom mic, and a choice of custom molded or just foam plugs, was apparently a lot easier to use. Last month's issue. It was lying around my FBO is where I read it.

I'll stick with my DC 10-13.4's for awhile, but I think my wife would definitely go for a non head-set solution.

Good luck.

We carry them at the store I work at. I have personally sold three sets and two of them were returned. First of all you purchase a earmold kit, not a headset. Then it takes weeks (i've had people say it took months) to get your headset back to you. Then once you get your headset every move you make is reverberated through the intercom. If you have money to burn and are looking for something different, go for it. I personally have not tried them.

I have dealt with the people at Panther and they seem super nice, that's got to count for something.

I have the panther and so does my buddy. I have absolutly loved them. With the advanced avionics in our plane we are fine turning them but ethey are so comfortable it's scarry. PM me for more details.
