I've heard particulars of why second hand but apparently there is a boycott of the F Street Station in Anchorage due to the way they treated a crewmember a while ago. I know that my pilot group is participating by not frequenting this once popular layover hangout...

Here's a quote from APC forums:

Friday night CactusCrew, myself, and a fellow UPSer(whom we'll call G) strolled into F Street around midnight-ish, ordered up some grub, and a few cocktails. Despite other posts, the bar was pretty mellow and not too crowded. Around 2am, G got up to walk outside to take a smoke. Out of nowhere and totally unprovoked some your 20 something punk blind sides our pal literally knocking his feet out from under him. The kid is quickly escorted out by a bouncer. I follow him out to figure *** was going on and expecting a fight. Some security guy shows up so I head back into the bar to check on my bud. He is on the ground, awake, but feeling severe pain in his lower back. One of the bouncers, a bartender, and an off-duty waitress proceed to get into my face and want me to get him out of the bar. I refuse and tell them to call 911 cause we're not moving him. They are trying to persuade us to leave because if they call the ambulance we'll "have like a $3000 hospital bill"

They then continue to say G is faking, smiling?, probably just wants a lawsuit, or just doesn't want to leave(his plan I guess was to lay on a scummy cold tile floor as opposed to walking 50 yards to his room at the Hilton). Prior to Cactus and I getting 'escorted out' the off duty **** of a waitress slaps me twice in the face. No BS! I'd like to think I didn't kick her skanky ass because I'm a gentleman, but I think being outnumbered around 7-1 was more likely the reason. I then find that 911 had never been called, so I call myself from outside the bar. Eventually, a cop and ambulance show up, police report filed, off to the ER we go. Deductive reasoning leads me to believe this kid was friends with at least a few of the employees in question, definitely a local, and why they didn't call 911 themselves. It was really one of the most unbelievable experiences in my life because of how we were dealt with after the event occurred. If G was being a drunk *******, I'd have been the first one to say so to him and everyone else. It just wasn't the case. Diagnosis was lower back muscle strain. No xray or MRI to date... If I talk to Danny(the owner), I'll post a follow up.

I've never met a bigger group of **************************************** than the staff at F Street station. I boycotted that place a long time ago.

Funny you guys mention F-street Station and fights with locals. Pretty much the same thing happend to me and a buddy of mine back in -01. Bet it was the same cop (Joe Sixpack) that showed up...

If you google "F Street Station" there are many local websites to give them ratings and comments. So far It seems pilots are just trashing the place with reviews and bad ratings. Keep it up!

F street is a dump.
Get some pizza and good beer down at Moose Tooth.

Do I even need to say it? Go to the ABC. Those who know...

But if you need to stay downtown the Glacier Brewhouse is my pick.

Let me get this straight ... three former Air Force officers, fighter pilots at that, are in a bar ... one gets sucker punched by a guy ... and the other two post their complaints about it on a message board to vent their frustration. Izzat it?

I dunno about Air Force, but an Army Grunt or a Marine would've found a more 'appropriate' way to express their displeasure. Air Force ... sheesh! :D

Grab a couple friends with baseball bats and go take your manhood back, Shirley.

Never fight someone who has less to lose than you do.

Never fight someone who has less to lose than you do.

Best words of advice ever.

I've been in epic brawls, and dammit- this would've saved me some cranium cover at least twice.

Thank god I'm 35 and show no signs of losing my hair, because I'd make Frankenstein look like a metrosexual fop.

If you stand on the roof of F street bar i'll bet you can see russia.

Humpy's has better food. After Humpy's you can go on a mission to Darwin's for popcorn and more beer...

F Street has its scumbag locals that show up there, thats for sure, but what do you expect from a bunch of frozen low-lifes with no future.

Me and a buddy got in a mini brawl inside the Bush Company one night because a dancer was pissed we weren't giving her disgusting azz any money. She actually called the bouncer over and he told us we had to leave. ((Bald guy with a little beard, about 6' 3")) he's been there forever. This dumbazz bouncer made the mistake of walking outside with me and my friend alone acting all bad azz trying to push my friend off the deck into the snow......long story short.....we handed him his azz. lol
