I'm looking for opinions or reviews on palm software with weight and balance. I need something that you can configure 10 different stations. Thanks.

Another spreadsheet alternative is MiniCalc. Very powerful and also has a "Office Suite" of additional programs for a minimal amount of more money.

Spreadsheeting your W&B gives you the opportunity to customize it specifically for your needs.

I wrote one 'sheet that would calculate all my takeoff performance data, V speeds, etc. You can also if I remember correctly put weight limits on specific locations.

Another program that seems to be held in high regard is CoPilot. From what I understand it is free or close to it. Don't know too much about it as I have not used it. It does have W&B capabilities. It is the MOST (most downloads) popular aviation palm program out there. It might suit your needs.

Take Care & Good Luck!

like what was posted above.....any spreedsheet will work if you know how to add in the simple calculations. Back in the day i just wrote my own w/b programs in basic for c172s and crap but now days i use an excell w/b i wrote which can have as many stations as you want.

The only problem with mine is it isn't type specific so im always looking up the arms. But if you dont fly the same plane all the time a type specific one is almost worthless.

copilot rocks... great software.

we use it for quotes on the fly and flight planning.

it does have W&B - works great in my 210... tough in the Challenger.

if you go the excel compatible spreadsheet route - just use multiple sheets for different aircraft. (if you don't want to re-enter all the arms and bows.)

palms are great... but I'm thinking of going to the dark side (Pocket PC.) I want 80211b for networking and the other whiz bang things - like the MP3 player.

anyone use the toshiba e75X series or the HP 5450 series? they're both attractive to me... I'm just sitting on the fence until the laptop finally breathes its last.

You might want to check out the Palm Tungsten C.

I don't have one yet ( I am considering a purchase). It has Wifi and 64mb RAM & a 400mhz processor and it has been getting very good reviews, has a built in keyboard, and lots of other goodies. It is supposed to be VERY FAST & the battery life is very long. Battery life on the Pocket PC's from my understanding is dismal.

The only shortcoming is that it only has mono output on the audio. Just get a mp3 player instead.

Palm rocks! Just say no to Pocket PC!
