A program designed to take low hour pilots to the right seat for Mesa Airlines.
What about option "C"? Is MPD still running their ATP program? I know many pilots go through it to get their ATP, then interview with mesa, then again, many current mesa pilots already flying the line also take the same exact ATP course but wait... They are already flying the line!??! So are they paying for an interview? Paying for training? Or maybe they are just paying for an ATP rating? I got my ATP on the South Ramp of HNL airport for personal reasons, even though the ATP I got was more expensive than Mesa's ATP program, no guarantee of anything when I passed my ATP checkride out here in paradise. I paid for my ATP early on to help me get the fuk out of Mesa!
All mesa bashing aside (I think they suck more than you!) what are you really paying for? A guaranteed interview or training? The ab initio program was like $35K large for a PPL/COMM/ME/INST ratings... No matter how you perform in your free interview the thugs at Mesa can not take away your ratings when you are finished with the ab initio or ATP program. You have paid for a rating(s),... thats what you got... If they want to interview you after and they are hiring DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST... You will probably not be happy working there anyway so why go through the pain?
The PACE program is the only "product" provided by MPD where you dont really leave with any new ratings but you are exposed to the Jet FTD... (I dont think its a sim) For the $11K MPD wants I would go get a 737 type rating for $6995 instead! (and have buku $crip left over) Then you actually have something for your money!
I knew quite a few PACE grads at Mesa and with one exception they were.... well lets just say not the best performers in a truly high pace 121 airline ground school. But like the rest of us I am sure they learn... The said 172 training in the said pattern is probably more detrimental than helpful to airline hopefuls... I like 141 schools too. ERAU/UND are all MORE EXPENSIVE than MPD... MPD doesnt give you any CFI ratings though... RESEARCH.
