P180 Belly Landing at HPN this Morning - Was it Avantair?

I think they should have landed on the moon. The lack of gravity would have made damage minimal and they wouldn't have inconveinced anyone. Just my two pennys.
 
more gear problems?

Heard an Avantair P180 yesterday divert from TEB to EWR because of a "gear problem". Any info on this?
 
I heard the FAA wants to ground all the P180's. Any info on that?


Why the heck would the FAA want to ground the P180?!?!?

They actually have a great safety record. There has never been a fatal Piaggio crash, ever.... (ok, knock on wood)

Its a really really high profile airplane. So when they have gear or brake problems, everyone broadcasts it. A Citation can crash short of the runway and kill everyone on board and it barely makes the news.... Come on, I cant figure out why everyone seems to love to hate those airplanes...
