Given the state of our industry..........I have an incredible urge tonight to fly DC-9's and B727's for OZARK AIRLINES!!

http://www.ozarkairlines.com

Anyone else in my shoes?

Or maybe.........People's Express, Braniff, North Central, Republic.........they all sound good to me.

I would like to fly for Piedmont out of my old hometown airport, TRI. Anyone know where I can pick up an app?

Oh well...time marches on....

The OZ nine

I flew the "OZ 9" operation at TWA. The OZ pilots are a great group and I enjoyed flying with them very much.

"Paint it green and send it to Moline."

Nostalgia. I remember JFK in the 70's and 80's. Remember riding the Van Wyck into JFK with the TWA hangar littered with 747's, L1011's 707's and Pan Am. BA and AF Concordes taking off just ripping the atmosphere with those afterburners. Man those were the days...

I got a green Ozark golf shirt from my brother. When I wear it (some) people smile. They unknowingly show their age when they recognize the name.

The good old days of Frontier, Piedmont, and Ozark.........

I feel honored to be able to say that I had the chance to fly with the Ozark guys at TWA for 2 years. They were a great group of folks - as were all TWA'ers...

"Braniff Hostesses – Fashion Leaders in the Sky"

Oh yeah baby.........only if I could travel in time...........hot **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED*

A Braniff International hostess is a beautiful person. She is alive for her interest in people for themselves. She is a daughter to the middle aged; security to the confused; a friend to everyone who boards her plane; a heroine to little girls; a source of pride and joy to her parents.

She is one of the 1,000 elite young ladies from virtually every state in the United States, the Pacific area, South America and Europe who make up the Braniff International hostess corps.

She may be a native of almost any part of the world, but is making her home now near one of the Braniff hostess bases.

She has the ability to communicate with the people with whom she comes in contact. She knows how to serve meals and beverages in a gracious manner; a little about aerodynamics, a lot about first aid and even how to deliver a baby – just in case.

She is a model in how to walk, talk, sit, stand, apply make-up properly and style her hair. She is full of common sense about situations which might occur in flight and on the ground

Gone....But not forgotten

My dad joined the ranks of the Ozark Silver Swallows in August of last year after 39 years, 5 months and 23 days of service to Ozark, TWA and American. I had the pleasure of attending the Silver Swallows retirement dinner last month honoring all of the Ozark retirees from 2004. I grew up feeling like a part of that airline, as it was more than just an airline, it was and still is a family. Even though I'm happier than a pig in poop doing the kind of flying that I do, there are still days that I look at the green and white DC-9 model on my mantle and wonder what it would have been like to live my childhood dream..... to fly for Ozark...

Oh...btw..
OZ never flew their 727s... I think they sold them to Pan-Am just after taking delivery of them.

lawndart--I spent 3 years flying FO on the "OZ9's". I'm sure I flew with your dad. The -9 operation in the early '90's was reasonable facsimile of OZ and I learned a lot from those "Green guys" that I keep with me to this day.

I did my captain upgrade on the DC9 and all the 890's were OZ guys. It was a privilege to fly with them and learn from them.

Take care.TC
