I have slowly come to the conclusion globalization is a net loss for most people in the US. I could be wrong.

As did many at the time of the industrial revolution. I enjoyed your posts and the spirited debate, a rarity here.

No. Isolationism is hardly a good solution either. What I propose is that free trade agreements have been quite bad for the American worker. There are options between 'free trade' and no trade.

Perhaps we should have free trade and come up with some new plan for American jobs. It's a HUGE problem that no politician will talk about as free trade is AWESOME for companies like Apple Computer. Do you think Apple would be making as much if they had to manufacture their goods in a free country and pay middle class wages.... ummm.... no. They benefit from slave wages in Asia.

As a result the conversation is off the tables for Republicans and Democrats. They'd rather have a spirited debate on tax rates between 32% and 35%
