The ATA pilot group has voted in, by about 52% to 48% vote (with TWENTY FIVE PERCENT OF THOSE ELIGIBLE NOT VOTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to extend the "temporary emergency" pay cut.

When will we learn??

Of course it is not all bad news. Hats are now optional.

I feel sorry for the guys (and girls) at ATA. Truly a disfunctional pilot group to say the least. The ironic thing is that most of the pilots are wonderful people and skilled aviators, but for some reason when it comes to politics the place is as dumb and corrupt as they get.

Oh well, I enjoyed my time there but glad I'm looking at the mess from the other side of the fence.

Good luck to you all...many of you deserve much better than the hand you have been delt.

Better than nothing

ATA pilots are neither the first group nor the last group to go through this. Maybe it is a not so good paying flying job right now. But it is better than the pay at a starting flying job. A job that might be hard to find on a short notice. You can always look while being paid at least something and you are current which makes the next job easier to get. However for rundu I would get some interview prep so your attitude does not come out during the interview.

Not making light of your situation but you can insert a number of airline names and management types into your post and it would be accurate, too.

BTW, George is once again (third time, I believe) trying to save HIS airline after some hired gun MBA came in and f@#ked it up. This one was a doozy, though. Good luck to all.TC

I have a major attitude when it comes to ATA and the management that has screwed so many good people, have had no interview prep and I got a really good job. Thanks for the advice for rundu, but I agree with him 100%.

Becuase if you get into it to truly help your fellow pilots you will get booted out. (JL, former 727 and 757 fleet manager, ring any bells anyone???)
If you get into mgmt just to be in mgmt, then you are welcomed with open arms.

You're right Randy. Here's my reality, my company makes many hundreds of millions of dollars a year in profits. I and my fellow crewmembers are going to get our fair share of that money! Welcome to my world!!!

My company doesn't carry stinking passengers!!!! Since 9-11 my company has been it's most profitable as the pax carriers have been in the toilet!!!
