sorry for beating this to death, but How long did the surgery keep you out of functioning normally?

Some new drama with me: I'm getting 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed, have 7 days off from flying but on the 8th day, a big vacation to europe starts. I can just see the worst case happening, having complications, and I have to snub a vacation I've been planning for months.

It'd be no big deal to reschedule 2 weeks later, but I'd rather get it over with if I can rest assured that everything should go fine. What to do...decisions decisions.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Reschedule. Absolutely. Do you want a European vacation with dry sockets with rotting food in them that you can't get out that makes your mouth taste like sh!t, infection, trying to navigate a health system with a language gap, etc? Don't even think twice about it.

I had some wisdom teeth pulled last spring and really no big deal. The worst part was as the local anisthetic wore off and I had not made it to Walgreens yet. Your DDS will give you probably some Loritab and Ibuprofen. I took the Loritab for a day after and then was flying two days after the oral surgery.

Same here, I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled a while back...my surgury was easy and recovered quick. But that isa good point...you will have some stitched up holes in the back of your mouth...might want to reschedule. I had 2 of the stitches come out on my after only afew days. As far a flying, I would have gone back to work right away

Reschedule. If I remember right, I had to use a syringe to rinse out those holes for a while, and one did get infected. It wasn't too painful, but I did have to go back to the dentist to get it taken care of. Keep your worries down and enjoy the trip.
