I've thrown in my apps online to all my targeted companies, should I also mail them to their HRs?

Coug

What companies?

FDX? NO (You'll need your sponsor talking to the Chief Pilot)

SWA?? I believe that's still a NO (..and a gentle inquiry from a Capt o the People Dept doesn't hurt)

If you list the companies, I'm sure pilots for those airlines will give you the straight answers.

Good luck.

Thanks,
I know that FEDEX is a sponser...till waiting on a m&g
I pretty much shot apps to everyone trolling...trying to supplement my AF Reserve job: SWA, Delta, AirTran, FedEx, UPS, CAL, JetBlue...anyone...Buler..Buler

I had my resume walked in at AirTran, NetJets International, and a corporate job by Captains with those companies. It makes a huge difference. I got an interview at all places within a month of the resumes being walked in. I did the online app at JetBlue and it was 6 months before I heard from them. I had talked to Captains at JetBlue but they weren't willing to use the blue dart and I didn't ask if they would. That's their personal decision.

It really is all about networking.

Spot on!!!

I won't do you any good at CAL. Just keep the app updated online and have your sponsors chat with their CPs -- send your sponsors a copy of your resume so they can talk knowingly about you rather than just, "Yeah I know him, here's his experience level, he's a good person."

Also, choose recommendations wisely. A recco from the wrong person can do more harm than good. Most CPs/HR can see through the "Yeah, I don't really know this guy but he lives down the street from me. I have no idea what kind of pilot he is or what kind of employee he would make. His lawn never mowed though."

I think most airlines went to the online format to reduce the "hard paper" clutter. Sending it in would basically go against that principle.
