Just an idea... But if we had only one contract one union and we all had to
have a minimum amount of experience to be a part of the union then
this whipsawing would not happen and it would be a win-win for all.
Fares would raise to what they should be.
Airlines would have to be efficient with resources, sales and marketing
rather than relying just on cutting labor costs to make a profit.
Or do we need an administration that cares about labor first?

Special High Intensity Training

Yes i am sure that management will still make sure that we get our share
of "Special High Intensity Training".

No doubt.

Why is it no one complains when times are good? The system only sucks when you having a tough time. You guys are real american heros...

Get informed. Quit whining...

IMHO, the only way that anyone will listen is that EVERY ALPA carrier pilot just wakes up one day and walks out of the job saying ENOUGH is ENOUGH!! That will bring the country to a standstill. Do we have that unity? Do we have the pelotas? NOPE!!

The saga continues....

Fares would raise, passengers would decrease. The marginal passengers will forgo the trip or drive their car. The number of pilots needed would also decrease. Raising fares would be good for the top of the seniority list and bad for the bottom of the seniority list.

BS, if fares'd raise 30 bucks, people would still fly. People will fly AT THE LEAST up to the point where it's equal to the cost of driving, and with the cheap long distance flights currently, there's some room to raise those prices.

The way things currently are, Jetblue's loosing money and even Southwest will start losing money when their hedges run out.
