Well first off they are pax charter company with DC-10 and based out of Tulsa. I hear that they over-hire for classes and then wash people out. If that is true its kinda scummie esp since you start on the panel.

Not true, they don't overhire and they don't wash people out. I have just finished training with them after 17 months of not flying, so I was a little rusty and had no problems. No one in our class washed out and the training was very good and low stress. They hire PFE's, so you won't do any panel time and if you are a pilot with DC-10 or 757(have 2 and getting 2 more 757) time you have a shot at getting hired. If you know someone at Omni that will help you get hired. Also, if you know someone from ATI you more than likely know someone at Omni. There are a lot of guys formerly from ATI. They have another class starting May 12, but after that I don't know about any future hiring. Good luck if you choose to pursue Omni.

thanks a lot. have a friend of a friend kinda deal. what about pay, benefits, bases, future plans, unions, etc. think an rj captain has a chance. is it a worthwhile move?

BAD ANDY

SORRY EMBATP WAS LOGGED IN UNDER BAD ANDY. SHAEFJET THE QUESTION WAS FROM EMBATP TO YOU. PS HOW WAS THE INTERVIEW? HOW LONG DID YOU WAIT TO INTERVIEW.

I interviewed in Sept 2002 and was put in a pool and was not officially hired until my March 5th class date. I think I put my resume in around August 2002, so it took longer to get into class than it took to get an interview. No union, first year f/o pay is around $50.34, I forget because before I was making nothing, so anything is better and I am flying again. I have a payscale sheet somewhere, but misplaced it. Basic medical and dental, not great, not bad. Interview is very basic, they just want to get to know you a little, no tech questions and no sim ride. Whether it is worth it for you or not is your decision, for me it was worth it because I was unemployed and didn't think I would ever fly again. Everyone is home based and they fly you to your trip, but that means they want to keep you out for as long as possible so they don't spend so much on airline tickets. They can have you out for 18 days with 12 days off a month.

Well I guess I stand corrected. The things I heard were a couple of yrs old and came from an Omni F/E.
