Keep in mind, when mother delta is done with it's cuts, even mainline will have a tough time considering themselves "MEN" I believe their wages/benefits will be considered little boys......we can all wait in the unemployement line for our weekly check together....even then, everyone will still love to point fingers......gotta love the industry......it's your fault, no, it's your fault, no, it's your fault........

No Rich, its all DAL mainline pilots' fault.......Now get it right!

In the end, you may find out that you don't actually need to furlough that many pilots. Once word of the furloughs gets out there will be a lot of junior FO's looking for jobs at other regionals and many will find them. Between the furloughs and the potential for court-imposed contractual changes many junior guys may just bail out and some may leave the industry entirely. Also, with downgrades to FO and an extremely long time to CA upgrade a lot of more senior FO's may bail as well. Put it this way, if you were flying for Comair and you weren't looking for a job before you probably are now unless you have enough years invested that you have to see it through until the end. Good luck to all of you, this industry is failing worse everyday and there's no end in sight.

Sources say that the number changes every day. As soon as the plan is worked out, Delta calls back and changes the schedule. This is the supposed reason for the delay in the announcement.

They are saying some time this week. Leaves of absence and possibly early retirements will be offered.

So would someone on a leave of absence still have access to health insurance and flight bens??
