its opening a EMB140 base in ORD in april to do aa flying and its going to be mostly 3-4 day trips

whats the difference with them flying in ord vs flying in stl? theyre still flying for AA. you guys at eagle need to find ways to better spend your 5 years on reserve.

Careful buddy. That may someday be you by the hands of another airline...

The E140 is actually an outgrowth of the E135 airframe (I believe it's designated EMB135-KL, or close), rather than a shrunken 145, and as such it's the dog of the family. It holds 44 pax. It was designed by Embraer specifically to get around rather strong caps in APA's contract on the number of 50-seat and up jets, prior to 9/11. As such, only Eagle and CHQ have ever owned it.

Did CHQ get the memo that there are never any gates available at the Eagle concourse?

I pretty sure the CHQ pilots would all love to stay in STL and do the easy, commutable, high time AA Connnection trips that base has enjoyed for nearly a decade. Instead, they're gonna commute to a lousy schedule with 6-leg days and most likely a contractual min days off. This sucks for all parties involved, of course excluding management.

Try 7-8 legs, 12 day off for senior pilots, working all weekends, combined with a few deah-heads.

Or you can be furloughed while American, who actually OWNS the routes, gives it to the airline they actually own (Eagle) and who has the airframes to handle it.
