Do you realize that the E170 carries more pax than a CRJ700?

Just Curious if the 66 pax on a Delta e170 are more than the 70 pax on a CR7.

I beieve that there are 64 seats on a 700 with first class, and I think that the revenue lost from two passengers is made up by the difference in fuel burn when you put first class in the 700.

Actually yes the Freedom pilots could work there... Provided the pilots are brought on as contractors either independently or through a staffing agency. This is done all over the world.

Almost forgot

MESA SUCKS!!!

Pretty sad this industry...... Other jobs are outsourced to countries like Mexico and China because.....cheap labor and no labor laws. In the airline industry the US is the cheap pool of labor for the world.

That deal with never go through. There will always be a need for some sort of 50 seat pax jet. Period. And if you are an EMB guy the 170 burns just as much if not more gas then a CRJ700 and the E175 is less efficient then the CRJ900.

The need for the 50 seater is gone. Why do you think all the airlines are trying to off them here in the US. Post 9/11 when loads where light the 50 seater did a great job. But it is long out lived itself and the crj200 is on the outs. You are right the crj 700 and 900 are more efficient. But what the airlines like about them is PAX comfort, full over head bins full size lav and you don't have to hunch to look out the window. Also, people don't feel like they are sitting on a ramp.
Specific range on the 170/175 is not much more than the 700/900.

There are 70 PAX on the DAL e170 and 76 on the 175.

I just cannot see the MEC organizing informational picketing.

They would at ALPA national's direction. Furloughing out of seniority is a huge RLA issue that affects every unionized carrier.

With both a bankruptcy and a weak contract, there's not much the MEC can do most things.

This part's pretty funny!

Have you ever asked a passenger which they prefer?

Could care less and guess what? The execs could are less as well!

Have you ever heard what happens to a demand curve, as you raise prices?

We going into econ here? I dont see your point? Pax are not demanding a damn regional jet. At the days end a E170/175 is thus a regional jet. New flash I know.

Do you realize that the E170 carries more pax than a CRJ700?

The 6 paxs make a huge difference? I didnt realize those 6 made up for the fuel difference?

There are alot of reasons why the E170 is popular with airline execs and why RAH (like them or not) is the most efficient operator of the E-Jet in the world (right now). I don't claim to know what goes on in the mind of airline execs, but for whatever reason they like this aircraft and time will tell if the E-Jet will survive the oil crisis.

Execs again could CARE less about the E170... Which bird is more fuel efficent, who can do it for the least cost etc. If you think they care about anything more you are sadly mistaken sir. I would also caution you all your CEO is the same guy who got rich from Mesaba and left them high and dry. Best watch your own back first......

The judge involved , a MR. Clarence Cooper. And being very Fair. He even once ruled in favor of a convicted sex offender.

JO will win because the "My VP was preoccupied with internet porn at work" argument will work this time.

Proper word usage/grammar/syntax Nazi hat on
;

You could care less? The execs could care less? Or maybe you or they couldn't care less. Think about the words you use. If you or they could care less, that means that you or they do care which is the opposite of the intended meaning.

Proper word usage/grammar/syntax Nazi hat off.

blah blah blah, I know. Someone is going to post; "I couldn't care less!" Well, at least it is proper word usage! :D

I'm taking a guess, but great lease deals from Embraer??? (New aircraft, warrantied items, low interest rate, etc.)

Actually... no. Unless Mexican laws have changed, this cannot be done. Just because it's done in some places doesn't mean it's done "all over the world".

Ironically, Mexico has some of the strictest laws in the world when it comes to allowing foreigners to work there.

He has no clue what the execs want.... None of us do. He's just talking about of his rear end.

Funny thing was all of a year ago the RAH guys were some of the coolest guys inthe world. But these new guys RAH got are just terrible. Some of the cockiest MFers out there......

Road back with a CHQ Captain out of CVG. He was talking to me about some issues and even mentions ways he could see CHQ/RAH doing furloughs at some point. His thought about it, "itd be great for some of the young guys as they are the cockiest SOB's we've had here ever." God I miss the old days of RAH and their pilots... They use to be some of the best and now they are comparable to Mesa.

I suspect there would be very real problems from the FAA who oversees the Freedom operating certificate if they decided to operate in two separate operations in two different countries simultaneously.

Nor could Freedom just drop the US certificate and start anew in Mexico. I'm sure there would be plenty of certification hurdles to get started up in Mexcio, and lets face it . . . who would want to work there as an ex-pat being paid pesos by JO? It would be about as popular and as profitable as the Chinese operation . (which is to say, neither)

Again .. . the more wild the "save us!" rumors, the closer the company is from total meltdown.

What do you mean THIS thread. I do believe most of the threads on FI evolve into ""My dad can beat up your dad".
