Picked this up from a very credible source.

1. The evidence MESA has compiled going back to the D8 days out of JFK shows that what DAL is accusing us of does not match (outside of the company investigator). The judge involved , a MR. Clarence Cooper.. Has a record of being a by the book guy and not showing favoritism. And being very Fair. He even once ruled in favor of a convicted sex offender.

a) Scenario 1 : We win, Delta Pays us off lots of $$ and we no longer fly for them.
Scenario 2 : We lose, we file for Ch. 11...and we get a new CEO.

2. A "foreign carrier down south" is very interested in flying our ERJs and wants us(freedom) to fly them. There are rumors of TACA, Mexicana, or Aero Mexico

3. A good chance the company furloughing out of seniority.

Probabilities:

Mesa wins suit and significant cash judgment (months of lengthy appeals): 30%
Mesa files BK regardless of outcome: 80%
Mesa gets new CEO: 1%

Mesa gets new partner to provide lift with Freedom outside the US: 0%*

*(only because a probability of less than zero isn't mathematically possible)

========================================

Take it from some of the pilots here who've seen their companies fall apart and go into bankruptcy. The wilder the rumors, the more desperate sounding the "our savior is coming" rumors, the closer you are to bankruptcy and ruin.

I'm sorry, it's just the way these things happen. EOS, Maxjet, Champion, Skybus, Independence . . . all had similar rumors right before they shut down for good.

Could be wrong, but it sounds like the handwriting is very much on the wall.

I surely hope this post isnt the mentality of the typical Mesa pilot. Or perhaps you all should be folded under..... Just the attitude in this post lets me see you need to re think yourself in a professional world. Plus DAL had every right to stop your service. You guys didnt produce. Simple as that. Much like you are not for UAL/Airways as well. Both companies would be much better with another carrier taking over your flying and doing it right for the 1st time in a while.

Actually, UAL and Airways don't need to replace the flying done by Mesa. They are looking to get out of RJ contracts, period. Especially 50 seaters.

Okay, I'll play along -

1. Mesa loses the Delta hearing, but eventually wins a monetary judgement (which Delta knew would happen all along). Eventually, Delta and Mesa settle for 20 percent of the judgement and Mesa leadership takes the credit for the 'good fight'. Delta was wrong to cancel the contract but the judge couldn't force Delta to use Mesa and that Mesa's bankruptcy is Mesa's problem, not Delta's. Delta saves over $50 Million on the deal.

2. Mesa files chapter 11 and requests the ALPA contract be cancelled and that the ERJ pilots be terminated as Mesa is grossly overstaffed and doesn't have the time or resources to train the ERJ pilots.

3. ALPA blows a gasket. They start with information picketing and a PR blitz saying that ALPA pilots gave up their vacations to help Mesa through the hard times, took junior assignments and worked under difficult conditions to help the company avoid losing all of the contracts while leadership was preoccupied giving all the Aloha flying (and $52 Million in cash) over to Hawaiian. Prater beats his chest red on national TV.

4. During the bankruptcy, Mesa discharges most of its debt, gets the pilot contract cancelled and works out a deal with UAL to swap 50 seaters for 700's on a 10 to 1 basis. UAL drops as many 50 seaters with the other regionals and their contracts allow. Mesa sheds most of its 50 seaters and US Air goes to court to try and cancel Mesa's contract because of the bankruptcy.

5. Aloha withdraws it's suit against Mesa realizing their is nothing to collect. If not, it is discharged.

6. Senior leadership clears over $2 million in fees citing the lease cancellations and the new UAL agreement as a monumental success. After all, this was precipitated by Delta's evil acts and high oil prices which could not be foreseen. Their original request was for over $10 Million.

7. ALPA and Mesa work out a deal whereby the ERJ pilots are simply furloughed out of seniority and ALPA takes credit for a success by saying, "...It was the best we could do. We simply had no choice. The bankruptcy laws need to be changed. We were lucky we were able to keep their seniority. Look at what happened to XJ and Northwest."

8. Mesa underbids other regionals for a new contract for the 2nd legacy carrier (that goes BK in '08) for regional feed two years from now.

9. Mesa imposes new working conditions with new and draconian changes. Forced PBS, calendar bidding and no double time. When asked why management wants attrition to go through the roof, they say, "... where are they going to go?"

10. Ten years from now, the cycle will repeat itself.

That deal with never go through. There will always be a need for some sort of 50 seat pax jet. Period. And if you are an EMB guy the 170 burns just as much if not more gas then a CRJ700 and the E175 is less efficient then the CRJ900.

Honestly that sounds a little too real to be just a guess. I can see EXACTLY that happening and I agree with you 100%.

Emb....

I read somewhere that the EMB 170/190 is about 10,000 lbs heavier than the CRJ 70/90 seaters. That would explain the high burns....

Mexican labor laws will not allow this.

Actually yes the Freedom pilots could work there... Provided the pilots are brought on as contractors either independently or through a staffing agency. This is done all over the world.

Almost forgot

MESA SUCKS!!!

And being very Fair. He even once ruled in favor of a convicted sex offender.

Wow, what a great example of a 'fair' judge. Grasping at straws man, Mesa is going down the tubes...

Might be.... Fact of the matter is so many fell in love with RAH and the E170/E175 and the damn thing burns more fuel then a darn CRJ.... Perhaps we need to go and park all those as well. Why operate them when a RJ700/900 is more fuel efficient? :) Thus why you will see all these planes in service still in 5 years IMO.

Have you ever asked a passenger which they prefer?

Have you ever heard what happens to a demand curve, as you raise prices?

Do you realize that the E170 carries more pax than a CRJ700?

There are alot of reasons why the E170 is popular with airline execs and why RAH (like them or not) is the most efficient operator of the E-Jet in the world (right now). I don't claim to know what goes on in the mind of airline execs, but for whatever reason they like this aircraft and time will tell if the E-Jet will survive the oil crisis.

Take SoveryTired's advice. The rumors will get more fanciful as Mesa heads for its demise. Put down the crackpipe and update the old resume.

:laugh:HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....this is the funniest thing I've heard in a loooooong time! The MAG MEC is worthless and they are terrified of JO. I just cannot see the MEC organizing informational picketing.

Heck, just last week one of the new Capt. Reps sent out an email asking everyone to show up on time and get every flight out on time! Yeah, that'll show JO.
