So after 2 months of Obama, you're ready to write him off, but I guess the last 8 years were just peachy!?! Yeah, can't wait to go back.
(and for the record I did vote for W in 2000, but you can't fool me twice).
And as far as freedom of speech, how short is your memory again? We lost it after 9/11, nobody was allowed to say anything critical about the admn or the war.

You need to drop the ideology and make your decision on facts.
There's a simple rule: If someone has his mind made up before anything happens or has always voted for the same party, he's not a free man. He might think he's free, but he's controlled by a party machine.

Unfortunately, the fabric of the US was what allowed ENRON, AIG, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, CEO salaries to be 400%+ the nearest employee salary, etc. No, we don't need socialism, but rampant deregulation is no good either.

I have a brother in law who was arrested and detained several times for exercising his 'free speech rights' during those protests.

You can't hang the AIG, Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae/mortage thing on Bush's head. It was policys that were put in place during the clinton admin that allowed people to get loans they had no hopes of repaying.... There were several pieces of legislation during the Bush admin that tried to change this, but could not get through congress. I am not pusing for no regulation, but put blame where blame is due! Bush just happened to be driving when the wheels came off.

Some how I think there is probably more to the story about your brother in law's arrest that just speaking his mind....

Some were hurt, and lost pay (I have many friends who took pay cuts and a couple on the street) but that is how this business works... there have always been ups and downs in this business... if you don't like it, get out of the private sector, and get a gov job... for less pay... forever... with risk comes reward.

Sir, if you really believe that these scumbags will not attack us when they are GOOD AND READY, then you sir are living in happy land. They have been sitting back and laughing their asses off at us as we have been economically self destructing for them for the last year. Bush's laize-faire approach to the nation's economy is doing what they want far more efficiently than they could do with violence and terrorist acts.

Ill bite. Throwing money into the school system doesn't work. The schools in Washington D.C. are the most expensive yet they have some of the worst records. So lets divert the war funds into education? I can see the lack of education, but money won't solve the problem. My stance is the Government involvement in the education system is the obvious problem. Its a typical liberal response to throw money at something, all heart and no brains.

Bush made enemies? Obama has been in office for 60 day and how many enemies has he made? Ask the Europeans how they feel about him over the defense system in Poland. How about aiding terrorist organizations in Gaza. Tax money really well spent. I could go on but I think our POTUS ignorance and lack of experience has been revealed. What are we going to do about the missle thats ready to launch in N.Korea, absolutely nothing. We will see what leaving evil people alone will do. That in all sense is naive. Why doesn't N. Korea like us? whats not to like? Maybe Iran likes us now? I have to give the POTUS credit, we did make a new friendship with Cuba now that Gittmo will be closed.

The best thing Obama has done so far is awaken the silent majority.

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you what I thought the writer's intent was. It seemed to me that he thought that the original poster's writings taken at face value were prima facie evidence of said ignorance.

On the other hand, if you agree with the original poster you may be missing out on the 'fun.'
