Not too many crashpads, and those that do usually require a car. Mabye around the Alameda area.

Most of the hotels give a crew discount. I usually stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was around 55 out the door. They only hold so many crew rooms so it's best to call early. It's a newer hotel, but still has thin walls. Sports Bar downstairs if that matters.

Down the chain in desirability is the Best Western and LaQuinta (Days Inn too, maybe). I stayed at the LQ and it is less (around 45), but it's not an area you want to walk around at night...literally. It's fine if you get in late and are leaving early. The staff is nice but the hotel is a little run down. Shuttle is reliable.

The old Red Lion was rehab'd into something else. I've heard guys stay there, but I think it was re-branded too.

Top level is the Hilton. I stayed there a couple of nights with Hotels.com. Not sure if they give a crew discount but it is the top property in the area.

Guys used to go down to the Hayward LQ. Good price and great location but I heard rumor they quit offering shuttle service. It's a 20 min ride.

Hope that helps.

Red Lion OAK Airport

Very close and reliable van. Don't recall how much...i stayed there a couple months ago and they were good....don't have any experience anywhere else.

Red lion or holiday inn on Hagenburger. Just look at the map. You dont want to be near highway 880, but a lot of crew stay there too. No more Hayward unless you have a car. Crash pads exist among male/female FAs at nearby hotels with shuttle, some pilots crash pad in Alameda but you need a car.

Stayed there recently on personal trip. Crew rate was exactly $59 out the door with free breakfast for crews. Also a food/beverage discount at dinner, but I don't remember how much. Concur that the vans are reliable, and the treat us very well.
