Just flew into EWR this evening and was approached by an employee from the Port Authority. He drove up to the airplane and requested that we pay the landing fee to him in cash.

I've flown into EWR in the past and have never had this happen before. We refused to pay (don't carry around $235.00 in cash.)

Is this legit or is this guy trying to pocket the cash?

Nah sounds legit. I couldn't imagine a NJ/NY Gvt Zombie oxygen thief employee trying to be crooked.

Well were going to be on the phone with the port authority monday morning to find out what's up.

This is not how they do business. You ran into a guy who thought he could scam you. What happened afterwards?
