I still say that the flying is going to go to whoever is the cheapest.
How can NWA start thier own regional? They would have to get the aquisition of new airplanes approved. Do you think all thier creditor would be happy about money being spent when they aren't getting paid?

No but one of the many holding companies can start another regional. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't MAIR trying to get out of the XJ scope contract. If they do, I think MAIR would be the lowest bidder on the new flying. Our leadership said from day one that 9E would remain intact and XJ was as good as gone. XJ has a avro fleet nobody wants and the saabs can be RFP to someone cheaper.

YPF, I don't know if you've noticed, but the trend is to get rid of mainline jobs, not create more.

No they are getting rid of mainline jobs, but as part of the deal, the pilots being laid off will be allowed to go to the 70 seaters. This deal changes the situation of the RFP's. No current regionals pilots would allow NWA pilots to be hired in to the top of their list.

It's likely NWA will start a new regional allowing NWA pilots the ability to bid into the positions on the new 70 seaters. The RFP's most likely are to whipsaw our NWA pilot rates, don't expect anybody to get this flying other than furloughed NWA pilots and newhires. The roles that XJ/9E will have at NWA is unclear at this point.

NWA isn't going to waste time/money to start a new certificate. You are drinking company Kool-Aid. NWA will give it to who ever can do the cheapest. They don't care about saving jobs, they care about money and THATS IT. Money talks and Bullsh!t walks. BTW YPF, you change your tune every other day...your act is getting old.

Some of the best advice I was given lately was to listen to half of what the union says, half of what the company says...put the two halves together and thats close to what will happen.

okay your pilot fued, you once said....mesaba will get the planes, and now you are saying from day one.....mesaba will be gone, where are you inventing all this crap? And by the way, the planes at MEsaba, are not most NWA planes? We do not have an Avro on property, NWA has them and leases them to us, so you are wrong there.

Oh, and here is a thought, maybe because we have that side letter with MAIR holding, thats why they are pushing us pilots to walk off the job in a strike or whatever so they can use our certificate? it would be just like ALPA to allow that to happen, just so that mainline guys are happy at the once again expense of the regionals. What would i have to lose to walk off the job at what they are offering now? nothing! And if NWA and ALPA flys on any MAIR certificate, ALPA and NWA will be sorry.........nothing to lose will be my motto from now on.....hahahahahahaaaa (creepy laugh by the way)

It's early in the decision point right now, anything is purely speculation. However, to come out and say one company is more likely than the other company is funny to me. NWA has always said they were going to start up another regional. NWA alpa has been negotiating to get that flying.

I once said Mesaba would get the aircraft under the agreement that NWA was going to fly 90-100 seat aircraft at a seperate regional and 76 seat aircraft were going to be allowed to go to the regionals; Or if mini-NewCo happens for just 76 seat aircraft. This is all still a possiblity, and if this happens XJ probably will get the airplanes. However, the new deal is quite different, and since this is what has been negotiated over the past couple of days, there is no way in past posts I could have known. What they told me originally that XJ was in trouble, I didn't believe them, it was in my opinion that XJ was in an ok position.

Your pilot friend,

Assuming you currently work for nwa, are you a bus driver or a speed bump?

Everyone look Ms. Clio is in the house.
Calm thyself dude.

I suppose that the current/remaining Mesaba pilots will be fo's for the J4J's from NWA. Well, at least they'll have a job and the "benefit" of being ALPA ; )
