Hey this year NWA is sending out $500 checks to everyone. Beats last years taco bell coupons.I see you looking YPF! You dirty bird!!

I have always stated the regionals should become part of the mainline.
This is an opportunity to do that, although the union will mess it up.
Mainlinne pilots have taken huge paycuts due to the shift in productivity of the regionals. NWA was paying 14 cents a mile to go to into airports that were replaced by two rjs operating at 16-20 cents a mile. Guess where that separation in pay came from.....Tickets didn't go up. The union never figures in how productivity is going to impact the pilot group in the long run, that is why it has done so poorly in this mess.Mine'll be about $2,000. Naturally, I'll turn it down because I'm supposed to be too angry to accept extra money from NWA...
And it hasn't happened yet? I find that hard to believe that the industry could possibly be that resistant to anything you have stated should happen! How could it be so?
Ahh!..the "union"! That explains it. Despite your valiant effort to bring a change about, the "union" has failed to execute your carefully developed plan. Those twerps!
(sigh)
What is the NW unions stance on this.
Our former ALPA leader once said that all redtails should be together. Will NWA MEC block it trying to "save" their jobs?
I have run into more of those who are cool at NWA while commuting...but like any group of pilots or anyone....there are a few A$$h0les in the bunch, i just hope they are not on the MEC.
But, given our mec, they are all stand up guys and gals, i hope yours is the same way. Oh, and lately, i must say to the main line guys and gals, thanks for all the help in my commuting....seriously...its been great lately dealing with you guys, and you dealing with me !!! getting home is a wonderful thing.....

Silly, you don't make $150K.Mine'll be about $2,000. Naturally, I'll turn it down because I'm supposed to be too angry to accept extra money from NWA...
I personally don't think the purchase of MSA by NWAC is a threat to NWA pilots. I think it would be a good idea to just merge the lists and blend the operation, even though I can see liabilities along with the potential benefits of such a deal.
Anyway, Occam is right. If this goes off, we need to merge the lists this time around and stop the whipsaw once and for all.
Silly, you don't make $150K.
Simply merging the XJ and NWA seniority lists won't end the whipsaw by a long shot. To end the whipsaw once and for all, you'd have to merge the NWA, XJ, 9E, and Comp-ass lists and change the scope to 0-seats. Don't hold your breath.
In reality, all mesaba pilots will receive is a metered flow up to a lower paying job. They will give you a choice to leave the mesaba list to go fly the E195 if you are on the E175. you will make $19,000 at mainline. That's less than saab FO, but that's the reality of the situation.
Caution! Old saw ahead!
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
It won't solve all the problems, but it's the right thing to do, at the right time.
