Any predictions on how long to hold a line for a new hire?
DC9 MEM?
A330 SEA?
747SO ANC?
ANC747SO - late 1996 hire
SEA 330 - early 1995 hire
DC9 mem - mid 1997 hire
DC9 MEM is not correct. Current list shows junior pilot as a August 01 hire, which means a newbie could expect an award there in a couple of months.

He asked about holding a line. the most junior MEMFODC9B was:
05219 232885* xxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxx MEMFODC9B
date of hire: 6/2/1997
Movement at NWA is going to creep for a while. Expect 12-15 year junior captain at best.
Why the creep?
I thought that they were going to be hiring a bunch and guys were going to leave at 60.
Any reasons for hope that pay, work rules, and morale will improve in the future?

Hey there,
You might want to use a more current list.
The Bid List for January shows the most junior DC9 FO Blockholder in MEM as a 25XXXX number, which is an August of 01 hire. Not too many guys behind him that were hired before 9/11, so that list isn't long overall.
The most junior reserve guy in MEM is a new hire with a 27xxxx number.

12-15 yrs to hold junior reserve captain on the DC-9?? I don't think so. Currently the junior-most CA has a seniority number of around 4200 out of 5400. That is just 1200 numbers to CA.
Yeah, but how about holding a line? Yup 1996 hires. 12 years. It may be sooner if you want to be NWA's B@tch for a LONGGGGG time, thus the relative "juniorness" of a reserve captain.

Thats true-unfortunately!!
nwaredtail;1482379 Yeah said:Having been a bottom feeder for a long time, I can tell you reserve is a good deal if you live there. But please don't move to Detoilet - it's horrible, and I move up even faster.
As to new hires, we have 9 in the last 2 classes assigned to ANC747SO. The last rather short APA has nothing to do with age 65. Call Stephanie and ask her.
I expect the majority of pilots to retire at age 60. We will be impacted by this far less than anyone else.

How much time do you have to show on reserve call out?
