For those in the know at NWA:

1. Do you get you guarnatee pay while in training?

2. Are you eligible for health insurance on DOH?

3. What are the ballpark figures for insurance premiums for family coverage?

4. Is the B Fund contributions taken out of your paycheck or is it on top of your pay?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes. 75 hours (Reserve guarantee) Pro-rated for the date you start class.

2. Yup. Technically, it starts at 0001 CST on the day your class starts...8-hours before you walk in the door. Effectively, it starts when you walk in the door.

3. Not ballpark: Exactly $295.02 per month (deducted pre-tax) for full family medical. Exactly $23.76 (deducted pre-tax) for full family dental. Although the premiums are a lot higher than we'd like, the coverage works well.

4. Both...kinda. 3% of your pay is automatically moved into your 401(k) each paycheck. We did that in 1989 to hide $$ from Uncle Sam. It can be rolled monthly, quarterly, annually, etc if you choose to take it out of the NWA 401(k) plan and self-direct. I've been doing that since 1989 and it works great. Another amount, above your W-2 pay, is put into a Defined Contribution Plan.

I don't have firm dope on the status of New Hires and the new targeted DC Plan...since that started TODAY. You'll be invited to an evening of beer and pizza by ALPA on the second Wednesday you're here. The Benefits Specialist can brief you on all the "exactlies" then.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a class date with NWA in January and have been looking all over the place for a copy of the contract. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Thanks!

Any info on the interview other than a sim and lots of TMAAT questions? I interview soon.

Training Pay

1. Yes. 75 hours (Reserve guarantee) Pro-rated for the date you start class.
????????????

Unless they changed it, training pay is 2 hrs. 40 min. per day. In a 30 day month it works out to be 80 hrs. of pay.

Is the pay for a 5 day work week = 2.6 times 20 days for the month? That would come out to around 52 hours a month at $29.65 = about $1500.

The above post of 80 hours pay for the month sounds off. Otherwise once through training, your pay would go to guarantee of 75 hours which would be a pay cut and after training pay normally goes up not down.

Just trying to figure the budget for the training period....

Heyas,

Nope, it's 80 hours a month. You get paid for every day, not just the days you have duty.
