From Mark McClain:

"The MEC met at 10 a.m. today to discuss the status of
negotiations with NWA management. Unfortunately, there has been
little progress. NWA management is still making unreasonable
demands with respect to small jets, continues to insist on erasing
many of our fragmentation and successorship protections, and is
still demanding 50 percent deadhead pay and credit, 75 percent sick
leave pay, and refuses to provide pilots any equity in NWA in
return for our sacrifices. ...

" ...NWA management is continuing its ill-advised strategy which seeks
to misuse the bankruptcy process to achieve contract changes far
beyond those necessary for a successful restructuring. Since
management has stubbornly refused to move off its overreaching
demands and may soon be in position to impose onerous terms and
conditions on our pilot group, I have decided today to ballot the
membership for authorization to strike Northwest if our negotiation
efforts fail to produce an acceptable agreement. ..."

Voting starts Monday.

Either Mgmt will come to their senses, or it will be EAL all over again.
