Rumor out of 3rd floor NATCO is that NWA will be hiring after we get through the JCBA and seniority list business. Anyone have similar info?

I wouldn't doubt it, especially if we have more guys submit for retirement prior to DCC. Since the Widebody guys werent offered perps you can bet a number of those guys will be leaving prior to DCC. I hope we do so we can get our Poolies brought on.

You can hope all day long. But until it's on paper in a signed, agreed contract, the situation is hopless. Hopefully someone thought of putting language into that Delta/NWA pilot agreement about taking poolies.

Considering Moak's backstabbing of NWA back when he took a deal with management, I doubt poolies are of any concern....

I realize you guys are a bit bitter and have some animousity toward Lee. Well, back in April after several attempts to work out jpwa, Anderson called Lee and said ".. you and those NWA boys need to work out a JPWA because in 10 days we will announce a merger with or with out your blessings..."

Lee called his counterpart at NWA (sorry I dunno his name). He was about to take a family vacation to Mexico. Supposedly, he said Anderson was bluffing and took his vacation. Lee worked out the LOA 19 w/o the NWA bubbas because their MEC thought Anderson was bluffing and the chair felt it was more important to go to Mexico.

Bittsh all you want; enjoy the 25+% raise -- I only get 5% in January.

I don't blame the NWA group for calling Anderson's bluff. And all that BS about Anderson not merging unless the pilot seniority issues would be settled.

THen Anderson is truly a dumbas$. Just look at what happens when you dont have a fair SLI from the get go.... US Airways / AWA. Yeah, now that was a successful story...... NOT.

First off I voted yes. But we at nwa did not get 25%, actually it's about even with your gains if you include the higher medical premiums and less guarantee per month. Just to set the record straight.

Well DUUUUHHH!! Just use the Navy Seal Combat side stroke. I tend to get less tired with that one.
 
Actually for most guys it's a small pay cut.
I see now! Thats why nwa passed the jpwa by only 86%, so you would take a paycut yet bring your delta brothers up to (not quite) parity with YOUR contract, thanks for the sacrifice! So, in January, if I were a 757 capt. I could look forward to $144/hr.X 80hrs./mo.X 12mos.=$138,240/yr until 2011! wow! As it is, though, I'll have to make due with $167/hr.X80X12=$160,320/yr.---a $22,080/yr. or 16% "paycut". Thank you, filejw, so much for your sacrifice, it means a lot to the delta pilots and will go a long way towards establishing harmony between the two groups. BTW, with the windfall we'll be getting from the old nwa contract, you'll have no problem convincing the dal pilots that DOH is the only fair SLI solution...

Had your side done it's due dilligence, instead of having the mind set of "we're Delta", you COULD have enjoyed some of the benefits in the NWA contract.

Don't blame us if the little bit of money barely makes up for the loss in QoL items.

I mean, who the heck WANTS premium pay after 80 hours anyway. And who would WANT actual line pilots as instructors...I mean, they probably don't have anything to add over those retired guys or CFIs anyway. Family leave and ASAP? Who needs it? We're "Delta"!.

The last time Atlanta was invaded was by the north during the civil war.

Round two is coming up!! I can't wait to see the "harmonies" (or is it "synergies") that this merger creates.

NWA gets a great pay raise, a better contract, better bases, more widebodies, etc. Talk about a windfall. Hopefully the SLI evens things out.

Has everyone forgotten the fact that DAL had a tremendous amount of pilots retire early?

I hear a lot of junior DAL guys complaining that it is a windfall for NWA pilots. We at NWA didn't have a mass retirement like you did. Without the mass retirements, many of the junior pilots would not even be on property!

If we were to take MY DOH and integrate it into the DAL seniority list, I would be a 767-4ER first officer blockholder in LAX. If you can see by my position at NWA, I am nowhere near/close to a comparable position on the NWA side.

Just a little refresher.

I am really looking forward to the merger. I think things are off to a great start and I think things will be more synergistic than the naysayers believe. I am not entitled to the 767-4ER seat. That will be arbitrated and I will live with the outcome. I don't expect a windfall, nor should the DAL guys because of their "sacrafice."

Life is too short to worry about what other people got. Hate to keep banging that drum but don't most of you agree?
 
NWA deserves every bit of pay raise they got - we all do!
Problem is that we (Delta) never stand up for ourselves.
Paycuts? "Yes sir!"
Cancelled pension? "Yes sir!"
30% for the mergee with 1.5% for yourself? "Yes sir!"
I truly am happy for the Northwest guys, it's about time somebody gets a little back.
Not for me though - I'd rather just keep getting Moaked in the backside.
Now, where do I staple myself to the bottom of the list?

Most of which is subject to considerable debate.

Pay raise...depends after factoring in the loss of premium pay, higher health insurance, etc, etc...

Better bases? YGTBSM...yea JFK, LAX and ATL are real garden spots. That other place has a big, smelly lake next to it.

Better contract? I don't have the energy to post all the stuff the NWA guy are losing. But I'm sure that the non-line-pilot that I get in the sim won't have any problem telling me how lucky I am:rolleyes: .

Widebodies? Hmmm, I'll take our 18 787s over your 8 777s.

But hopefully you're right...maybe a decent SLI WILL even things out a bit.

When we retired our people, we also parked a bunch of planes--including all of the MD11s, 737-200s, 737-300s, and 767-200s.(that was after parking the 727s, L1011s, etc) Yes, some people moved up, but not many. A lot also moved down. You have parked some planes, but not the amount that we have. Also, your senior guys still have their pensions. But other than that, welcome aboard!
