D-Bo,

Prove it or STFU. The vast majority of us wanted you to keep as much of your hard fought gains as possible, knowing that whatever ******************** sandwich you were served we would get a double knowing our mgt. I am sure we had a few douchbags(********************, we still have some that W hung the moon) write. (I bet AA,AWA,AS,B6,F9,DAL,SWA etc had many, many more). I notice you list the SAAB as a/c flown, are you a former airlinker? That might explain your hard-on against NWA.

No hard on against NWA. Like I said, I've known this to be fact since 02. First you didn't believe that even your own management lobbied against UAL. Even Ocaam admited that. If you don't believe me as far as the group of NWA pilots are concerned, e-mail Duane Woerth and ask him yourself. I've got no reason to make it up. I said before and I'll say it again, good luck with everything. I realize that we're all in this together.

Every major airline has a gov't affairs office. They don't send out communique's to the employees...

Second, initially you claimed it was the NWA pilots, suggesting it was the organized efforts of the NWA MEC... now this thread reads 'it was a group' of NWA pilots.

Because a clique of pilots gets together doesn't mean they repsresent the entire pilot group....

In addition, on the assumption that you work for NWA, I find it absolutely amazing that you heard nothing or claim to know nothing about NWA and NWA pilots lobbying to the ATSB against UALs case. Unbelievable.

I do work for NWA, and have for quite some time.

It's not unbelieveable not to know about something that didn't happen. There was no organized effort developed among the pilot group that I've ever heard of.

You want me to produce an article that would have been published over 4 years ago? Sorry.

Without some type of documented proof, your outlandish claims are just that. Unsubstantiated BS. "I heard it at a meeting" doesn't cut it. Sorry.

Occam, if you go back in read one of my earlier post in this thread you'll see that the only point I WASN'T SURE about was if it was sanctioned by your MEC. I now know that it was not but there was a group of NWA pilots (many more than a handfull) that wrote and lobbied their representatives in order to fight UALs quest for the ATSB loan.

That's it? That's the "effort" by the "NWA pilot group" to kill UAL?

Wow! A handful of pilots out of a group of 5,500 has your undies in a bundle?

'Kay. Good luck with that...

Deny it if you want.

Nah...if I did that, I'd be keeping this discussion on a slippery slope of irrational generalization that benefits no one.

Right now you and I could probably find a few handfuls of UAL pilots that believe they've been abducted by aliens. There are probably a few NWA pilots that lustily sing Barry Manilow tunes in the shower on layovers. Even nuttier, both groups no doubt feature a few handfuls that honestly believe Ann Coulter is a female.

See?

NWA management (as morally bankrupt as your management) objected to the way the ATSB was operating. There was a lot of discussion within ALPA of how the ATSB was using goofy criteria to determine which airlines were granted loan guarantees. That's no secret. There was no position, statement, or resolution from the NWA MEC on the topic of UAL's ATSB process.

At times this industry is run by the stupidest CEO. I'm not sure who is dumber; the dork who decides the best way to make money is to price most of the service under cost...or the brain-dead lemmings who follow that kook over the cliff.

The discussion I heard included predictions that the airlines who were granted the ATSB guarantees would turn around and cut fares.

Guess what? They did.

They weren't alone though. The geniuses running DAL blew the ink dry on the pilot's concessions, then launched "SimpliFares"...their brilliant scheme to ensure deep losses by all the legacy carriers.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, being very close to or in the NWA MEC, just ask Duane Woerth if it is true. If this didn't happen then a room with 40 people in it (I was in attendance) including D Woerth, P Rice, and Beebe are all absolutely nuts to spend nearly a half an hour talking about this very subject you say does not exist.

With all due respect...I think "nuts" aptly describes anyone who would conclude that "NWA pilots" were out to destroy UAL because a few of them wandered 3+ TACAN's off the reservation.

Dial your SensitivityMaster 3000 down to "Normal" and I think you'll be ok...
