When NWA and Republic merged there was never a decision about which uniform to adopt and as a result, NWA pilots can choose between the tropical or the shark skin. If this indecision hold true, now we'll be able to choose tropical or sharkskin versions of a double breasted or single...Nice. Throw another airline in the merger mix and we could have a real hodge podge of uniforms. Go Team!

You obviously weren't around at the time of the NW/Republic merger. The tropical / sharkskin option was around long before that. It had nothing to do with the Republic uniform, which was abandoned.

The Double breasted uniform looks good, ...I just don't want to have to pay for it after going in hawk for the new Sharkskins. I do hope if merged we keep the US Airmail wings though, they are really a piece of history.

Republic's uniforms didn't look at all like the NWA uniform. A year or so after the merger, they switched to the NWA uniform. There was no change to the NWA uniform, and the choice of two fabrics predated the merger.
