NWA/DELTA Merged Uniforms

Republic's uniforms didn't look at all like the NWA uniform. A year or so after the merger, they switched to the NWA uniform. There was no change to the NWA uniform, and the choice of two fabrics predated the merger.

Why was there ever a choice of two fabrics? It seems silly to me.

Care to enlighten us? I was also under the impression the merger was the reason for two uniforms.

North Central Airlines had 2 fabric weights way back in 1959 as did most carriers. Grey with black stripes back then for NOR. I had always bought one of each when allowed since it is a comfort thing. It seems like today everything just MUST be an issue. Jeez!
