I'm in the May 5 class and no call yet for the medical. I thought she said they'll call about 3 weeks prior

Why choose to go side-saddle? I guess they don't want to actually "fly" much. Either that or they really want to live in ANC.

I never was an FE, but flown jets where we have them. It's a cake job. For someone who's active in the ANG/Reserve, it's a great opportunity to catch up on sleep. It's basically - read a checklist, flip a switch, eat a banana....read a checklist, flip...

747-200 S/O is one of the best jobs at NWA that you could have.
After being a 747 S/O for several years I can say that it was a job that allowed me to see the world, and was better than any F/O position that I could of held at that time.
Long layovers in far away places. kind of beats the 10 hour Flint layovers.
ANC itself is a world away if you commute it.
