here is your chance NPA
When the first word's out of Allen's mouth is that the mediator is concerned about extensive changes.... I have to wonder how he is going to spin this one.... thankfully we have a panel with KING LEAR on board for a ''real'' pilot perspective. DO NOT tell me that the mediator is concerned. If the NC would have done their job (without interference) and truly represented the pilot group they would not be in this situation. If the BOD and NC had any sense of loyalty to the pilot group, they would have been firm-focused-fair. If they would have let the pilot group vote on this poor excuse of a TA, they would have seen a pilot group that is committed. DO NOT try to blame the pilot group for your inabilities to lead, motivate and be a LEADER. We are at a turning point as a pilot group. We can honor those that sacrificed their pay to avoid furloughs. We can continue to improve our contract in the same manner as the 2001 contract (the one that skippy didn't do). We can continue to conduct ourselves as professionals, flying the line safely and efficiently BUT never bowing to the rediculous offer from the company. No one on property came to AirTran with the expectation of flying the 190. No one wanted to go backwards on work rules. No one wanted to give away our flying to another carrier. We all wanted to be part of a company that has a good product at a reasonable price. Part of a company that is managed with some thought and insight. Part of a company that is growing. Part of a company where the pilot group respects themselves as well as other work group's. I will not sell out our flying for the sake of a payscale that will quickly be on the bottom thrid as soon as the concessionary contract are renegotiated. (I'm not just talking Captain pay). I will not be part of a stagnant growth while the 190 flying for Air Wisconsin goes through the roof. Allen, learn your own slogan and try this one on for size.....''Leadership by example,Leadership from the front,Lead, follow or get out of the way.''This pilot group is sick or your two-stepping talk that puts the blame on everyone else. This is your mess now clean it up. Get back with me when you have something worthwhile to talk about. We have a contract in place that at LEAST protects our flying. I can work under these rules for the next couple of years. I promise that the rest of the industry will raise the standard.
