Norwegian Air plans to use 737-800 MAX aircraft on thinner US transatlantic flights

That's right - 737-800 MAX aircraft on thinner Europe-US routes to the East Coast starting in 2017. In the article I read, the CEO claimed this would "turn the market for transatlantic flights upside down with daily nonstop flights on thin routes using the MAX." I have not been able to find this article online. He is also potentially ordering another 20 787-9s. Here is a similar article:

On the positive side, these MAX pilots would be European based vs. Bangkok based like on the 787.... On the downside, 8+ hours in a 737 and your a$$ would be flat...

I suppose if Norwegian can make transatlantic flying work with the 800 MAX, Southwest could eventually try it too....

The SWA/AirTran merger has been so smooth and problem-free that I know a SWA/Norwegian combination could work!
