It was just announced earlier today, I guess. They say in addition to the new nonstop flights between Indy and Frisco, they will also beef up service to LAX and LGA. Although this announcement is somewhat ironic, it's not suprising to some people since just a few weeks ago, Air Tran announced new nonstops from Indy to LAX and SFO. With ATA out of the picture, do you think that AirTran will continue to go head to head with NWA in an effort to attempt to become the dominant carrier in Indy?

Just looking for an opinions and/or insight on this matter.

Cheers,

Schmooze

Is there a list of cities NWA (and Airlink) serves from IND?

Great. Another deadbeat carrier that doesn't pay its bills looking to serve passengers at prices below their cost.

And in some of those NWA cockpits, there will be some pompous ass pilot proclaiming that the LCC's are "the reason we have guys furloughed".

Looking to serve passengers? Gee Ty, ....NWA was doing the IND hub thing a long time before you showed up. Here's the list that was requested:

- Boston (three flights)
-- Cancun (seasonal Saturday service)
-- Detroit (eight flights)
-- Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
-- Fort Myers, Fla. (seasonal)
-- Hartford, Conn. (two flights)
-- Kansas City (two flights)
-- Las Vegas
-- Los Angeles
-- Memphis, Tenn. (three flights)
-- Minneapolis/St. Paul (five flights)
-- New York (three flights)
-- Orlando (two flights)
-- Philadelphia (three flights)
-- Raleigh/Durham, N.C. (two flights)
-- Tampa, Fla.
-- Washington (three flights)

Heres another stat:

Top Ten Airlines at Indianapolis International Airport In 2005 By Market Share
  1. Northwest Airlines (22.6 %)
  2. US Airways (12.2 %)
  3. Southwest Airlines (11.9 %)
  4. American Airlines (11.0 %)
  5. ATA Airlines (10.6 %)
  6. Delta Airlines (8.8 %)
  7. United Airlines (7.2 %)
  8. Continental Airlines (5.7 %)
  9. AirTran Airways (3.6 %)
  10. Frontier Airlines (2.5 %)
I guess with those figures, when Forklift Joe announced service the other day, I should have come on here and said: Great, another pissant LCC that serves less than 50 places looking to weasel into another market. And in some of those Airtran cockpits there will be some pompous ass pilot proclaiming that "Gee, Golly! I didn't know you'd run into an ocean if you kept goin west!!"

Where do guys like Ty Webb come from? Maybe they should get a 'Discount Airline Pilot Guy' forum on here.

Ty,

Why do you make these bone-head remarks. I lurk a lot and your always negative unless its Airtran. I bet if NWA had hired you, you would not be talking trash about them. We are all pilots trying to make it here. We need to stick together as a group (all pilots). I'm happy Airtran is doing well for you. I hope it continues. I've worked for two airlines that have gone Chapter 11 that I never thought would have. It can happen to all of us. Keep in mind many peoples hopes & dreams have been ruined. Do you wish bad things for my family and my 1.5 year old? I don't think so. Come on dude take a chill pill.

A long time.... I think not. If I remember correctly NWA entered most of these markets (other than the hubs)in direct competition against ATA last year to try and slit our wrists.

Ty, I remember when Value Jet was hiring anyone with 2500TT, no degree, and DUIs a plus....I wouldn't put SWA in the same sentence as Value Jet because they do have very competent pilots that prefer gas stations to park their planes rather then alligator alley.

What an idiot you are. An AA pilot slinging mud on the subject of airplanes hitting the mud? Unreal.

Another clown with more balls than brains . . . . if you want to talk crashes, pal, your employer has lost four airframes since Valujet, so put a freaking cork in it.

I don't think it's fair to count the 2 lost on 9/11 when comparing accidents

It's not what is fair to Ty "Snug Fit" Webb. Don't expect anymore responses from "Snug Fit" on this thread. Even he knows when he has been beat!

More mindless ramblings from the same Nutless Wonder who bashes everyone else's employer, but won't tell us who he supposedly "works" for.

I think he's probably "working" for Pizza Hut during the day time . . . nights, he's "working" the glory hole at the adult bookstore behind a truck stop on I-75.

Duuude, da Tranny aint da VJ anymore duuude.

Your comparison to like VJ in the glades wuz very unfortunate, but like US Air fliipin that 737 over, it was not the airline dat was da problem. Dat whole Cargo Smoke supression stuff done came out as a result of dat.

Duuude, dat whole AA in Little Rock thing and like SWA doing them high speed off the runway stuff. Duuude, Cali Columbia was a real winner too, bro.

But like VJ in the glades, you keep spewing out the hate, bro, but Duuude, you and the SWA needs to be lookin in da mirror.

I love dem dudes from Southwest, cause they aint got that ole "I be more better and more Holy dan you"

You cats from American, wazzup? I can't believe dat you lettin AAPilot represent you like he be doin.

Frreaaaking Hippo-critt!!!!!!

Dats bad Kharma bro.

Dude, all dat Ty Guy (who is on all da peeps "gots to be trippin on da 737 with dat cat" list)....All Ty guy is pointin out is dat we gots to be makin a profit with the ticket prices dat we be chargin, but NWA is in dat bankruptcy thing, so they can be chargin like crazy stupidly low prices, cause all they want to do is grab dat ole market share against dudes like da Tranny.

NWA aint be havin profitability to worry about, so dem cats like doin da same INDY-San Fran gig da we doing is like for 1 reason....to be tryin to hurt da Tranny!!! Cause I be doubtin they'll be makin money on that.

Cmon, AAPilot, be objective bro. I gots love for you, but you gots to be more civilized and stuff!

You sure you aint Chuck Yougourt? Cause Duuude, you gots lots of hate goin on. Duude, grab some cold brewskis and some hot ladies, cause my brother, you gots to chill out and feel the love.

Duuude, da Tranny aint da problem with NWA...NWA gots to be figuring dat out by its own self, but don't be hatin da Tranny, cause we gots nuttin but love for you, Duuude!!!! Peace, my brother from another mother!

Sounds like you know what you're talking about! Being a "Snug Fit" guy you shouldn't have much problem with the hole.
