Anyone know the phone number to list for jumpseat. I'm going to Amsterdam so I know I have to list 24hrs in advance. Called the NWA reservations & at first they gave me the NWA pilots only # and then when I called back they said I wasn't supposed to list in advance. From what I've heard from others jumpseating international it is a TSA thing for the 24hrs in advance listing. Any help would be great. thanks

Don't have the FOM with me but I think you have to just be listed at the gate 90 min before departure for the TSA and thats just inbound to US... Hope we can help with a ride, see you at the Kras for happy hour. JW

That is my experience as well.

Just be prepared to pay any airport/landing taxes on your return trip at the airport before you board the flight home. Would be a good idea to have the exact amount in Euros to give to the agent when you check in at the ticket counter in AMS.

Have a great trip. Have yet to enjoy a beer at the Kras.

I went from BKK to NRT on NWA a few months ago and showed up at the ticket counter about 30 minutes prior to departure not listed and they got me on. Always had great NW crews on the international side...always welcome me on board...back in the good days let me sleep in the bunks.

I've heard that about NWA crews, as well. Hopefully, they can teach the DAL pilots, because some of them haven't learned that "Good goes around", yet.

Mac: Have you been denied the jumpseat on DAL?...if so, please tell us about it. There are as#holes at every airline, I doubt DAL pilots as a group deserve your wrath.

Read this out of the NWA FOM:

OAL pilots are NOT authorized for international travel on NWA FLIGHT DECK jumpseats or the supernumerary seats on the B747-200 freighter aircraft. This is a TSA policy.

Here is the loophole though:

CABIN jumpseats for OAL pilots ARE authorized on flights to and from international destinations. The jumpseater must comply with all customs and immigration requirements applicable to any passenger.

OAL pilots who request a cabin jumpseat must present a current airline ID (duh) and be on the Jumpseat Approved Carriers - ALPA/NWA approved list. They will be put on the standby/wait list at the lowest priority (9H).

OAL XCMs should use the the XCM/XFA Travel Request Form on all flights. Either NWA staff or the appropriate airport facility personnel will collect any applicable departure tax at the time of XCM processing.

The XCM will sign the form in the presence of the ticket agent and must give the form to the Captain for approval. It is strongly suggested that the XCM be at the departure gate at least one hour prior to departure to ensure meeting the Captain BEFORE the Captain boards the aircraft. Once on board, the captain will not be summoned to approve any request for XCM authority.

All code share and OAL approved carriers are handled on a walk-up basis only; advance jumpseat reservations are prohibited.

NWA has an "unlimited" cabin jumpseat policy. The total number of jumpseaters allowed in the cabin is only limited by the total number of available cabin seats.

Good flight!

The Kras is ok... Susie's Saloon is also good. €2.50 for a tall glass of Heini bet 4-6pm... Cheapest around....

Seriously, look at the cargo companies as well - Atlas/Polar, Kalitta etc.

I got stuck in Hong Kong the other day trying to get back on United. Ended up booking on Atlas and have been kicking myself ever since for not doing that in the first place. Very easy and and the most comfortable ride you will ever get.
