Just been offered an interview with North American. What fleet are they hiring for? do you still need an internal reference to get in, and is there a sim assesment involved. In another life i was captain B727 B737-3-4-5-7NG.
Would appreciate any info, not flamebate.
Thanks

Looks like they were awarded part of a 1.1 billion dollar deal with the airforce. Sounds like a good place to be.

U.S. awards airlift contracts worth up to $2.3 billion

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Air Force said on Monday it awarded a series of contracts valued at up to $2.3 billion to civilian airlines to provide emergency airlift services to the military for the next year.

The contract awards under the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program included up to $1 billion for FedEx Corp. (NYSE:FDX - News) and up to $1.1 billion for the Alliance Contractor Team, which includes Evergreen International Airlines Inc. and North American Airlines Inc.

Under the annual airlift awards, the Air Force can order services up to the total amount for each carrier, though actual requirements may be lower.

Civilian airlines commit to support the Pentagon's airlift requirements in emergencies when there are not enough military aircraft to meet all its needs.

The minimum guaranteed value of the contract is listed first, followed by the estimated contract value based on current Defense Department contract airlift operations.

Team members awarded at least 25 percent of the minimum guarantee are listed in brackets:

-- Alliance Contractor Team (Evergreen International Airlines, Inc. and North American Airlines, Inc.), $142 million, $1.1 billion.

-- FedEx (Air Transport International LLC and Atlas Worldwide Holdings, parent company of Atlas Air, Inc., and Polar Air Cargo, Inc), $185 million, $1 billion.

-- UPS (NYSE:UPS - News; Kalitta Air, LLC) $25 million, $119 million.

-- Miami Air Team (Miami Air International), $11 million, $43 million,

-- Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:CAL - News), $1.7 million, $10 million.

-- Lynden Air Cargo LLC., $42 million, $45 million.

In addition, Grand Air Holdings Inc., Hawaiian Airlines, Inc., MN Airlines LLC, Northern Air Cargo, Inc., and Spirit Airlines Inc. were awarded contracts valued between $6,000 and $1.3 million, the Air Force said.

Does anyone have any educated, non sarcastic information with regards to North American...ie, what are their hiring requirements? are they hiring? what are the typical trips like? what is the quality of life? what is the general opinion of the place, meaning are the pilots somewhat content (I know no one ever seems happy now a days)

Look at the other thread their are some of the questions answered there. If not PM me and Ill try to answer specifics.
