North American Airlines confirmed this weekend it will inaugurate weekly nonstop service to Maui from Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 8.

North American is a relatively new airline that is partially owned by the Israeli flag carrier El Al. The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau had said Friday that North American in November will begin serving Maui from both Spokane and Boise, Idaho.

The Saturday service will be operated with a Boeing 757-200.

WOW, Where did this come from?

And is it any wonder...

that this is timed with the made for television documentary of Martha Stewart? I think not!

Makes sense to me

If you guys knew how cold it is in Spokane in the winter, you'd understand. It's only one flight a week. To me, I think they would be better off starting in BOI, stopping in GEG, and then on to Hawaii but they must know what they are doing. I guess a tour operator is selling the seats so NAA probably doesn't care one way or another about how many go.

That is the beauty of charter. The bad part is that if the seats aren't full the broker will cut the flights overnight or contract to some other charter operator that has 737-800's that have ETOPS and are approved for that route.LOL Tough business. The mainline airlines failure comes to greed, they look at all those seats and think about all the money they can make if 70% of all the seats are full, in charter we pass that profit on to the broker as they are taking the risk.

???
North American has been around since 1989. How long does an airline have to be around to be considered an established airline?

727 and Turbo hit it on the nose. NA is a very conservative airline. I think Sun Trips is the tour operator that's taking the risk. I hope it's gonna work out.

Go to the Sun Trips website or jumpseat. Nobody seems to know about our jumpseat so alot of people miss out on a free ride to Maui and Honolulu.
