Well, t-minus 9 days until October 6th... and still no one important selling MAIR Holdings. Yes, Mr. Steenland has left the board, but lets all remember that Mr. Anderson also left the board just prior to announcing (in 2003) that NWA would be terminating the Avro leases. After an extension on that decision until February 2004 (all the while saying they would still be going), the pilots union settled on its current contract in January 2004. Low and behold its a miracle! The Avros stayed! During that whole process, again, no one important was selling their shares of MAIR Holdings (save a few scheduled automatic sales).

So again, here we are amid a falling sky of Northwest cash. The news is dire everywhere. Nevertheless, the good card players have watched how NWA and Mesaba management played their hands in the past. The good card players have watched for signs of that "killer hand" that says "they are not bluffing", yet the good players cant help but deduce that this, again, all a bluff.

There is more to this... a WHOLE lot more. Northwest needs that 70-110 seat capacity. The Avros barely bridge that gap in the short term -- with 85 seats in them. The Avros buy time for Northwest to fill that 70-110 seat void with proper aircraft -- with 85 seats in them. The schedule is for 9 Avros to go away October 31st. Fall-winter schedules are a great time to take away a chunk of Avros for modifications. The last time a chunk of Avros went away it was during the fall-winter schedule and they came back either painted or steam cleaned.

Any takers on this theory?

I just talked to a mechanic in MSP today, and he said 501, 508, and 525 were included on the list of 9 that are the first to be parked.
 
That's wild. Those are the ones with the new paint. Maybe they are getting 85 seats during their sabatical.

A very enticing correlation you have made there... Yet another coincidence, or just luck of the draw?
 
Even if we do get future growth our profit margins will be so miniscule our stock will still be stuck in the 9-11 dollar range. Your best bet is to cut your losses sell when it hits 7-8 if it ever does again. Sell now if your if your adverse to risk.
 
Hold everything....

Training on CRJ has come to a halt.....NWA has eluded to Bombardier that they are not sure on taking any more CRJ's, so they would like payment of training up front if Mesaba would like to continue training with them. Mesaba doesn't want to take that risk, which is no supprise...I wouldn't.... Further updates might...come next week or maybe later......But no classes have been canceled as of yet, just put on indefinate hold.....
 
I already posted this on the majors side, but what about Big Sky, last I heard they were owned by MAIR holdings or atleast Mesaba?? Just curious???
 
I wouldn't count on Big Sky for much.

First piece of the consession puzzle (BS)........It's gonna happen, it's just a matter of when.......

The only reason those got painted was because they were due for it. That is why the old ones get painted first. Ditto for Saab 407.

Don't read anything into the paint jobs.
