i've got a cactus buddy that will pick me up stuff from time to time. he said they got a memo that mexico is cracking down on crews buying from duty free. don't remember the details, i.e. liquids only maybe???

i think it was Guadalajara(???) that cut off duty free for crews because of something an f/a had done. no details, he just couldn't buy from there anymore. this latest memo though is supposed to be for the whole country. and like he said, when ya' get to that city/airport, they may be a little more lenient, just won't know till ya' try it.

has anyone else gotten this memo?
any idea why?

thx

ZIH has been out for a while too. GDL was my go to place for smokes. 5 cartons for like 70 bucks after employee discount and exchange.

Cancun wouldn't let me buy a bottle of vanilla and pointed me to a sign that said uniformed flight crews could not purchase duty free.
