The union has the right and obligation to negotiate and enforce compensation for the pilot group. They were working on a way to incorporate the bonus into that.
It is very true that the FOs who have been around a while are seriously PO'ed about the bonus. Me included.
Well, if a bonus means it will help the senior guys (CA and FO) ensure they have a job flying planes in the near future, then perhaps it is actually in their best interest.

Ah- I meant why just block it? I understand yer pernts, D. I don't give a rat's arse if it took 30 grand to get these kids in- it doesn't fix the problem I have. They CAN'T FLY. Period. If we were paying out money and attracting folks with experience of some appreciable measure, I'd feel safe on a DH to PHL. But face it- freshly graduating from Embry Ridiculous without an hour of actual or real instruction... let alone getting the valued experience of saying, "oh, shyt" when you're all by yourself... leaves the airline with a crop of incapable newhires. It's true. So five grand is one thing; how about five grand AND some legit mins?
did pdt ever get any profit sharing checks?
I hear ya Sig.
Problem is there isn't much experience out there willing to fly a turboprop when they could go to a jet operator making more money (second year), quicker upgrade, better base options, etc.
PDT sucks, and there is no interest from the higher ups in making it better, which will attract and retain more talent.
Don't go theredid pdt ever get any profit sharing checks?
