PIC's basically took a pay cut if you consider overtime and then add in vacation that was lost.

you apparently have no clue how many credit card points we used to collect? I'm guessing easily $5000 bucks more per year than a pilot is getting now.

I'm not real certain, but I don't recall credit card points paying my bills. Nor do I remember them putting gas in my tank or reimbursing me for the 5 hr. drive to an base only to airline out just the same as I could have done from my hometown.....

Sorry about the OT. My only response is OT is certainly never a guarantee. I made 14% OT in 2007, less in 2008 and even less in 2009. To me OT is just a nice bi-product of having to either wake up earlier or be on duty longer. From the sounds of it though, there is plenty of 14 hr. OT to be had these days?

sorry if you haven't figured out english yet

Keep listening to the sheep instead of researching something yourself with your own mind.

Again. No substance. Only chest pounding.

Loss of overtime was a function of the flying decreasing due to the ecomony. There was no vacation loss; it was either credited to pilots during the bid period change, or was paid out.

$5000 more salary in hotel points than what pilots make now? Puh-lease. Give me cash and I'll determine how to spend it, thanks.

Time to step back into reality, Raj.

So we should have held out on getting 500-1000 guys homebased, increasing their pay by a very considerable amount, all to keep our own credit cards.

Sorry I'll take the homebasing and pay vs. getting a free couple of nights in a hotel OR a free camera from points...

I should have stated.."Please provide REAl concerns about IBB." If that's all you have we might as well not even bother with the education.

Seriously though. Provide some real concerns and hopefully next time a CBA or IBB comes up we'll be able to focus on those...

Because from my perspective. The next CBA is gonna have some more SIC concerns over extending the current SIC payscale. And unless there are pressing issues you are still concerned with, they may be put on the backburner again.
The IBB didn't get home basing. It got us the 100 domicile deal. I drove past my home airport every tour to go to another airport 2 hrs / 100 miles away. Better than the domicile system by a longshot, but still not home basing.

When does the current contract end?

It doesn't end, but rather becomes ammendable, as early as 2013, or as late as 2016. That is one of the concerns I had about IBB. Possibly a 9 year agreement with zero COLA and small longevity increases that don't keep up with the modaest inflation we have now.

If upgrades continue to elude us, there will be a large number of SICs that will get zero increases until a new CBA is agreed to, which is likey to be well beyond the ammendable date. IBB won't be as popular then. But who knows. A lot can happen between now and then.

How do you figure that? Under the 2005 contract, a 10th-year FO would be making $65,221. Under IBB, $81,081. It would take over a decade for the 2005 contract's 3% annual raise to catch up to the top of the IBB's FO payscale, and you'd still be way behind in total compensation.

CA1900, I'm not saying the IBB raise was not worth while, but if SICs don't upgrade by their 10th year, there will be zero raises until upgrade or a new CBA. Nine year agreements aren't so bad if everyone gets COLA in addition to longevity raises. On the bright side, each agreement gives us more insight on what to avoid, include, or clarify.

Are you conveniently forgetting the COLA for the entire payscale if the contract is extended?
