(Yeah Tref, you go right ahead and make those phone calls. Let us know what the CIA has to say to you).

;) Wink's as good as a nod to a blind bat, no?

Well I did a search on previous threads that talk about the different aircraft at NJA. Given the choice between the three aircraft they said they were going to hire into, I would probably have picked the Excel, however I understand that the Excel pilot works extremely hard. Not that I'm against working hard, but hey, if you are salaried I guess I'd rather fly 400 hours a year rather than 800. So then I considered the Sovereign, since I heard it was a great airplane and a lot of fun to fly. But I would not look forward to 6+ hour transcon flights. I guess I was wondering how often the Sovereign really does those extremely long and slow transcon flights. So that was the negative to that airplane. And I really don't know much about the Hawker 800 other than it has a small baggage area. But I have no clue what type of flying to expect on that airplane. So I was simply just going to see what kind of flying each aircraft does by searching the lastest flights on the web.

Anyhow, it's really not all that big of a deal, and I'd consider myself lukcy to fly any 3 of those airplanes for NetJets. I just figured IF I did get a choice, I'd have to pick something. Seems like they all have some pro's and con's.

Well not sure what to think about the interview. DM said they'd be calling on Monday... and well today is Monday and I haven't heard anything??? Hopefully they are just a little behind and I'll hear something soon.

So let me rephrase my first question again. Given the Excel, Sovereign, or Hawker 800, which would you choose and why? I saw one vote for the Excel above, thanks Cavpilot! Hope everyone is doing well on this Monday! Cheers!

I've asked this question before and I think the 800 looked like the best choice. But from what I've read lately - ALL fleets are flying their limits. If you don't want to work, pick a fleet that breaks a lot.

Current NJA pilots please chime in with your info.....

Baja.

BTW - Good luck on the call and let us know what they offer!

400xp/beechjunk probably flies the least out of any of the fleets. For several reasons. 1. It is always broke. 2. It has trouble covering other fleets trips, because of size, range etc. 3. During the summer it can't fly some trips because of poor hot numbers. 4. Did I mention that it breaks a lot...

However you will find yourself sitting at the airport on hot spare a lot, which is more painful then flying sometimes.

I'd take the XL. You get an extra $225/month for flying the XL and XLS.

And if anyone is considering the 800, be aware the 800XP and 800XPC are different aircraft. Just as the Ultra and Encore [now] are. No crossover pay for those fleets.

That and hold your breath when descending out of altitude. You might be in for a real treat.

Sovereign is a really nice airplane. But, I agree with this. You will get the extra pay on the excel/XLS and it too is a nice plane.

Well I finally got the phone call this morning. Linda called and since I wanted LAX, she offered me the XL or 800 for October 9th, or the XL and Sovereign for October 23rd. I ended up taking the XL on October 9th. I've heard it's a great airplane, and the extra cash will be nice. I think the variety of flying will probably be the greatest of the XL too, but I don't know. I just went with it. Seems like there are good and bad about every aircraft. So the XL seemed like the middle of the road.

I appreciate everyone suggestions and I'm extremely excited about starting. I feel like Oct 9th will never arrive! lol Look forward to working with you all out on the line shortly! Ciao!
