Anyone know if they will fly you to training from your home airport or if you have to fly from your assigned domicile? I am getting married the day before i leave for training and PBI is a 4:30 drive

They will fly you from your domicile only, at least that is my understanding.

I'm currently at indoc and that's the word as I understand it.

Of course you'll have to see my lawyer if you want a guarantee on that :)

According to Section 13.9 (Start of Tour), "...the Company is not obligated to allow crewmembers to use airports other than those listed in this Section to begin any duty tour, including training tours".

Under the last CBA, it was possible to fly out of a "home" airport for training, but that's no longer the case with the new CBA.

But congrats on your wedding. Bring your new spouse to CMH for a wonderful winter honeymoon. "Columbus - it's the Bahamas of the Midwest".

Maybe they'll let me pay the difference for a flight out of JAX. Anyways, i could have had a later class date, but i would have had to wait another two weeks and i am already out of work so i didn't want to wait that long and give up the seniority number. Also i would have had to go to the X if i waited and i preferred the 2000. Also, anyone know who i should call at the company to check on this flight situation?

How long did you guys wait after sending in the app before the call for an interview? I sent mine in on the 5th still waiting anxiously for the call!

The REAL reason why I left FLOPS for NetJets

Some of my current employer's peers are asking me why Im leaving, the answer is simple: Better Food, Better Tie, Better Hotels. Not nescessarily in that order. Honestly guys, its NOT the $$$.

I was e mailed for an interview 5 days after i sent in my app...

Thanks SAE, maybe it's just a slight delay 'cuz of all the INDY guys that they just interviewed. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have come over when I got furloughed from INDY a year ago.

They don't call, they email you the interview info.

Some new hires are reporting getting an interview about a month after submitting an application and then about another month before getting hired. Some less, some more.

Once you get the interview you find out the next day. I got the call at 3:30pm and was sweating bullets. Linda said i was the last one on the list to get the call. I am not sure if they call you if you don't get the job. I was under the impression that they do but when she told me i was the last to get the call, i immediatley asked if that was a good thing. She responded that it was always a good thing when she called. Take that for what its worth and GOOD LUCK!

Linda only does the 'good news' calls. Derinda gets to do the 'bad news' calls, I think.

Can anyone verify this?? They are flying me from my local little field for the interview but what about for training. It would be nice if we could pay the difference between the domicile and our home airport.

OK...I got this email...
Dear Crew applicant,
Thank you for your interest in employment with NetJets.

NJA – the following pertains to NetJets Aviation only.
NJA is currently filling interview slots for positions open.
NJA is currently sending out applications based upon selected resumes.
If you receive this automatic reply, you can be assured that we got your email.
If you sent an attached resume, thank you. We prefer resumes sent via email.
Our Minimum Hiring Requirements are:
An FAA Airline Transport Pilot (MEL) certificate.
A current FAA first class medical certificate (issued within 6 months)
2,500 hours total pilot flight time. This does not include flight engineer or special crew time.
500 hours of fixed-wing multi-engine airplane time, turbine or piston, within these 2,500 hours. Rotary-wing multi-engine time is not counted toward these 500 hours.
250 hours of instrument flight time, actual or simulated.
Military Pilots may apply a 1.2 conversion factor to total military time (TT * 1.2) to meet the 2500 minimum.
Recent Flight Currency - if your resume shows that you have been inactive or unemployed (i.e. 6 months) please include how you are staying current (simulator time, BFR, IPC etc)
Applicants should be willing to start/end their tours of duty at one of the following domiciles: TEB, CMH, PBI, DAL or LAX

Verifiable employment history over the past ten years, with dates, which should include recent professional pilot experience. The provisions of the Pilot Record Improvement Act of 1996 are strictly followed in pursuing background checks, and will require applicants to complete release forms. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States.
We prefer some background with FAR part 91K, 121 or 135 operations. Applicants should possess outstanding basic airmanship skills and knowledge. Due to the nature of our mission – providing an Exclusive Experience to our owners and passengers, applicants should also possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
Our interview process includes questions on FAR 135 and FAR 91K regulations and a raw data simulator evaluation. We recommend a thorough review prior to interview.
NJA currently hires all pilots as First Officers, we do not hire directly into the Boeing Business Jet fleet.

Is this just a standard, "Yeah...we got your resume" email or does it mean anything else??

Inquiring minds and all...

Eric

My call came from Derinda and it was very good news. Derinda and Capt Wingate did my interview and it was very relaxed. Very straightforward and walked out of the interview nearly certain that I would get the job offer.

Jeez, so on any given day there are approx. 500 NetJets crews flying? Seems like I sure don't hear them that often.

Flying higher would help and also the call sign isn't NetJets,,, it is execjet...

I personally never received an e mail. Just got the app in the mail a few days later, waited a few weeks to get it back in and then got the interview e mail 5 days later

Congrats to all the new hires. Get ready for a lot of time at home this summer. Back in 2001, we went through the same hiring boom that is going on right now. We were taking a delivery every 6.5 days and hiring 40-50 pilots per month. It took me 4 months to start my IOE from my date of hire. Enjoy your summer off and welcome aboard.
Don't get too excited about upgrading in 1 to 1 1/2 years though. That sounds a bit optimistic at best with the pay incentive for senior FO's to upgrade. Good luck and enjoy your "Zecjet" experience.

PS. there is an average of 75-115 QS tails in the sky during the day at any one time. Just check any flight tracker program out and see. There are 83 in the air right now at 11:18.

Hello Torch67

I am new hire on the 800xp ,I start the 6th.
What do you use to track flights,
since I can no longer use my old employers side.
Thanks for the help.

I didn't get the email either. Sent my email in with resume attached last Monday, haven't received anything in the mail yet.

Waiting patiently... :)

delaatmx,
I have used flight explorer personal version for awhile for my own entertainment. It costs 10 bucks a month for 10 hours of usage. You can track fleets very easily with it. You can download the program at www.flightexplorer.com. For free options I have also used www.flytecomm.com to track individual tail numbers. The info drops out after 24 hours, so you can't see a jet that has sat idle for more time. www.fractracker.com works to find where a tail number has last touched down. Hope that helps.

Anyone know what Netjets is looking for as far as hours flown in the past 12 mos/currency?

Got the thanks but no thanks letter - for the interview. :crying:

Or,

Didn't think there was anything on the app. that couldn't be clarified in the interview - in other words, nothing to speak of. Unless of course it was some literal CPA review of the a/c hours matrix - what a mess.

I've got the hours ++, 800XP time & type, and another 4 or 5 types. Flew for 18 mos with RTA.

I can live with not being offered a job, but at a loss for not being offered the interview and an opportunity to screw up.

Any thoughts on currency and "deal" killers?

Having a CP friend do an employment verification with my last "employer".
