RNO,

According to 91K, 2 pilots are required in turbine a/c. That means an sic is REQUIRED. Not just per our op-specs.

I know you Piaggio guys are going to flip out about this, but the thing doesn't need a SIC. You can quote your ops specs to me all day long. On the type certificate it doesn't require a SIC so logging SIC in it could raise a red flag.

So maybe NJA is maybe only looking at his 500 pic turbine and that may not be enough in this enviroment. Just a thought.

I don't think so. The Ultra is certified single pilot.

First of all fishman, huh???? Your post doesn't make any sense, what does the Piaggo have to do with the Ultra??

Really the ultra is certified single pilot??? You want to do a little reasearch before you write silly stuff like that??? No the ultra isn't certified single pilot, it is certified for two pilots with provisions, same as the Citation 2 and couple of other models. You can get a single pilot WAVIER to fly the thing single pilot, not the same as being single pilot certified.

Wow so that makes it so I guess. I'm still saying the hiring folks at NJA are looking at that time with a raised eye brow. The type certificate doesn't say it needs two pilots. Get checked out as a capt then re-apply.

Even if it were ONLY Operations Specifications approved by the Federal Aviation Administration that mandated 2 pilos in a single pilot certified airplane, the Op Specs become an extension of all other regulatory documents and code out there. The FAA will enforce the most stringent of the requirements, Op SPecs included.

Now whether a recruitement department of XYC, Inc. chooses to recognize this fact and count such time towards employment at that company... that is a different story and one that is written by that company.

The applicant in question was worried about single pilot ops in a piaggo. NetJets flys the Ultra. The Ultra CAN be flown single pilot. You wanna get off my back? sheesh...

Who can fly the Ultra Single pilot?

There are only about 500 people with Single Pilot Type certificates in Citations. And that does not mean the Insurance Company will let you fly it single pilot.

The insurance company will let you fly a Citation single, pilot but the premiuns were 24k more than two pilot ops.
