Just out of curiousity....what did the company do to the crew of the Ultra in Leakey? Suspension(how long)? Anybody get fired?

Any word on the crew from this HPN incident?

This is an unfortunate incident, and could happen to anybody. Sh!t happens, things go wrong, and the pilots usually pay the price. Let's leave it at that and not speculate until the NTSB ruling comes out(if there is one).

BTW, before anybody jumps on the bashing bandwagon...no, I'm not an NJA pilot..I'm a pilot for one of their competitors.

I haven't posted in a long time, (I've been watching the Iraqi sunsets).

You should show goatblower the proffesional respect he deserves.

Well as I said, the FO was flying Captain with me 6 months after - said the Company was great. A trip to Columbus, OH for retraining, a few days of flying with an Instructor (said mainly to build up his confidence more than anything) he was pretty shaken up, then back on the road. Not sure about the Captain, I think he may have been on leave with pay until the investigation was complete. Don't know who he was, but just for the record, even with all the complaining out there, NetJets seems to take care of the pilots when bad stuff happens . . . at least from what I've seen.

During the Hurricanes in FL, NetJets released all crews from duty (that were effected), with pay, airlined them home and in some cases flew them in company jets home, to take care of their families and houses. Carry over from the Mom and Pop days of NetJets . . . You just don't hear the good stuff out there, but it is there.

As far as the HPN crew, we were asked by the Union to not discuss this for the protection of the crew until the dust settles. Hope you understand.

Hey Shrode,

I agree with all that you say, except the Hurricane part. During the first Hurricane, the company was not releasing crews until it was brought to light by the union. There were crews who wanted to use sick days to go home early and the company denied them. This was cleared up a short time after the first Hurricane and the company did as you said for the second and third.
 
It happens and unfortunately the more aircraft you fly the higher chances of this stuff happening. Hopefully winter snow will cease soon and we all can look forward to a nice long warm summer for fun flying. You know the old saying there are those that have and those that will. Fly Safe

You're wrong. Most haven't and won't. Let's shoot for 100% safety, most of us will live our entire careers that way. I certainly have.

I'm sure that this crew had extenuating circumstances. Unfortunately, NetJets is more concerned with their privacy than with sharing information that could help us all prevent this from happening again. Short field airplane + long runway + ice, should not = overrun. I'd love to hear why this happened.

I'm glad that Netjets protects the privacy of its crews, until the NTSB reports everything is just conjecture. I have a keen interest, as I fly the same type. Were it systemic, I have little doubt even NJA could keep a lid on the feds. So, until the report comes out, I too will continue to operate as safe as possible.
 
Add into the mix NIL braking action (UNREPORTED) and a set of pinned T/Rs and it could have happened to anyone reading this board.

Anyone who can have three spelling errors in a short sentence like this one is the biggest idiot loser I have seen in a long time. STFU, professor.
 
The T/R's were most likely MEL'd if they were pinned and it was flying. I am not speculating or anything, just saying that is usually the reason a plane would be flying with pinned T/Rs.

As much as I like slamming the Company, the only time pinning the TR's and then MEL'ing them, was for a brief (less than allowed) time. HPN is a MX station. If they had been MEL'd in ACK, this might be a reasonable trip. In 4+ yrs I haven't flown pinned TR's for more than a couple of legs. The rest of the details of the flight are still forthcoming.
