Got this email today - after a couple months.

Thank you for your interest in the Co-Pilot (019474) opening. You've heard that the only constant is change, and Nike is no exception to the rule. We've had to cancel this opening, but it's likely that a similar position will be posted soon.

Please continue to visit our website to search for open Jobs and to keep your Profile up-to-date. Remember, if you haven't already done so, you can even choose to be notified of future openings that match your career selections.

Again, thank you for your interest in our openings. We wish you success in your job search.

Sincerely,
Nike Staffing

I guess I should be glad that they looked as long as they did. :D

Well, they are a great company to work for I'm sure! I will continue to visit their site for future openings. What other places are you looking at?

I heard that the job was filled by Kathy Lee Giffords Chinese step son. He is willing to do it for 50c a day and no bathroom breaks.

What? You mean he quit as Kathy Lee's houseboy? TC

There are much better flight departments to work for, even in the limited Portland market. There is a new "TOOL" in the shed over there in the Nike flight department.

Why do you say that? Have you ever talked to a Nike Pilot? I suggest you do before you make such a statement. ;)

It's sad, because it SHOULD be a great place to work. G4G5's comment is about right.

My positive comments about Nike comes from conversations with friends. Actually, a friend of a friend ya known. I have no first hand knowledge or experience of which to besmirch them with.

Anybody care to say what the bad part about flying for Nike is? I have always heard about this as well...but I don't know what it is. Thanks.

Chronic understaffing, excessively long duty days with two pilot crews, and not the best management are the main problems, from what my friends have told me.

Notice that on that flight that had the gear problem a few months ago, the crew consisted of a new hire and a contract pilot. That should probably tell you something.

What flight department pairs a newbie with a contract pilot? Shoddy.TC

P.S.--IMO, if I were the contract pilot, I'd be leery of any operation that engaged in that practice.

On the new CEOs maiden flight w/Nike aviation, no less...

That contract pilot is now full time.....for very large coin.

Would somebody please tell me what is the definition of "tool" as it is used here on this board?

Thanks in advance!

Don't you mean the former CEO.

Heh, heh! In, then out, just like a boomerang! (Hey: That'd be a great new product line for Nike!)

Tool = worthless, dim-witted, dull piece of metal.

In usage on this board, it can refer to an installation just aft of one or both pilot's yokes, but more often refers to rusty equipment in the manager's office(s).
