How bout we see who can come up with the worst possible outcome for XJ. Just thought it would be fun to speculate. Come one, who's got the best nightmare scenario? Yes I work there.

Scenario for XJ

You will be out on the street looking for a job and Mesa pilots will be flying most of your routes.Good Luck!

How about you're out on the street looking for a job at Mickey D's, meanwhile MESA is doing all the red tail flying including flying CRJ 900's for NEWCO, just to add insult to injury.

At least you could have the last laugh. You'd be making more cleaning doodoo off the walls at McDonalds than your average MESA FO is making flying an aircraft with 6 more seats than DC9 across the country.

We really go to 49 Saabs, then the 130 (or so) furloughs become nearly 500. Oh, and they get their 19% pay cut.....

XJ furloughs, g*j*t adds 145s to the certificate, tsa furloughs as well, mes* and g*j*t compete for the flying, lower the bar and split it.

Really hope this doesn't happen

Sure, NWA could hire Mesa or someone else to do some flying. But then they would actually have to NEGOTIATE a rate with that carrier. I think they would prefer to keep their puppets instead.

You will be Full-Time at Mickey D's, Mesa Pilot is Part-Time at Mickey D's. He still flys on the side, and you don't.

You want to super size that?

Glad I'm on the Feb.15th list - 'cuz when we go down to a 400 pilot airline, there's going to be 350 guys junior to me at the BELL - Taco Bell!

Uh, how about "You're flying for a small jet operator in the USA and it's 2006?"

Well Here is what is really going to happen,

Mesa and HoJets become mainline carriers since they control 90% of the flying in the country. Virgin America the other 10% with British Pilots and the industry leading $29 an hour for Cpt of the Airbus. Then once you get out, and use all your training and skills to get that coveted frier position at the local McD's, Hulas decides to get in on the action Buys a few franchises. Lowers the Bar there by offering Brand New Shiny Friers that can fry twice as much, for half of minimum wage. Well, who can pass that up..
But wait, Now Hulas doesnt want to pay that much, so now you and Juan decide to take a stand. Hulas says screw this and opens up McHulas and floods the market with Brand new friers and some nice new lounge chairs for the customers, offering Double cheeseburgers for 50 cents. And yes, who wouldnt want to work there? Lower pay, but he promised more growth out west, and you can finish off all the leftover food after 12am for only half the price.
You decide, time to take my ass to Taco Bell, But wait...J.O. Has ruined that market as well...They got new Microphones for their drive thru... Yes shiny new microphones...:bomb:
And all the illegal immigrants who used to work there, They are all flying at Hojets and Mesa....Seniors and Seniorittas, welcome aboard.

I really don't feel very sorry for Express Jet. They were always jerks for the most part and thought Continental Airlines owed them something.

Here is a prodiction.....
It will be said, XJ has won the bid. XJ will take up to 50 of our A/C. This will send us into turmoil over our pilot contact, so they hope. This will happen over the next 1-3 months. In hind site, we will realize the RSP was nothing more then a ploy to get 9E and XJ to cut cost. NWA whip saws all its groups and regional partners. The last thing they would tolerate is a regional carrier that could whip saw them against their competitors. One must ask why has 9E and XJ have not strayed off to fly for other carriers? Because thats the way "Big Daddy wants it". BigSky, A ticket with nothing happening with it. Yet, Mair Holdings has all kinds of money to play with. 9E and its new ticket it was trying to get off the ground. It's not even being talked about anymore. During discussions between 9E and NWA I'm sure it came up, and they were told, "go out side and loose your flyng here". One thing to watch for is a merge between NWA and Delta. Then Comair would become a major player in all of this.

It will be said, NWA and its MEC have reached a T/A. "No new co, but 76 seat flying and below will be out sourced to it's regional partners. I CALLED THAT ONE 6 MONTHS AGO! That announcement was made as a proposal to the MEC by NWA last week in the Wall street Journal. Release of 70 seat flying by the MEC is what NWA wanted two years ago. With this proposal, the MEC will be able to claim victory, that it has defeated new co and it kept 76 seat and above flying at mainline.

Keep your eye on the ball.....

Feb bid lines are out. TER is next to my name....wait maybe that will be a good thing, gives me plenty of time off to go back to school. And just think about it. I've gotten older but the girls are the same age!

As for Mesaba...Well it was fun for a while. If they really do cut down to 49 Saabs I think it's the end of the company. That's ok though, Mair holdings can always play with Big Sky for a while to stay occupied.

Exactly the perspective 9E pilots had when it lost most of its flying to XJ several years back. NWA and your management are hopeing it will get them the concessions they are looking for.

Ah concessions...I could sell concessions at the Pistons or Wings games...Free entertainment and no pay cut.....good idea

Emperor Frank Lorenzo will return to power and take complete control of the entire airline industry, force one seniority list, one payrate ($35/hr) and fly only 200-seat CRJs around.

Hey Flying Backwards and Whale Roast,

My post was not meant to be me whining about being a captain. Just trying to add a little humor to the deal. I sat FO for almost 6 years with NO chance to upgrade.

Now, pull your undies out of their bunches and relax. Remember to smile.

There's always someone who has had it better and someone who's had it worse. Always someone who's older and junior to you and someone who's younger and senior to you.

Remember to laugh.

Mine wasn't meant to be whining. Hard to not be bitter with the way spongebob has ran this company. I was just glad to see the judge cut his bonus in half. That really made me smile.

Thanks Kmox, we all need to relax and try to find some morbid humor in this.

I still laugh out loud when I think about how Spankoff tried to worm his way out of answering your question on the conference call. Good job man, that was priceless!

I understand. I've been flying with FO's about to get furloughed. I F'ing HATE our SLT. Never before have I seen such a worthless bunch of people in my life. Don't even get me started on MAIR Holdings.

I've heard kudos on that from a few different people...pilots, FA's, and gate agents. I do believe it was my finest moment in aviation. Because Lord knows, I can't land the Saab for %#*@^!

Here's one for ya, MAIR holdings decides to buy the E-170/190 with their own money. NWA agrees that NWA pilots will fly the jets for regional rates. XJ attacks the scope contract that says all MAIR flying must be done by XJ pilots. XJ pilots strike over their scope clause, who crosses the picket lines? Oh that would be such a nasty situation.
