The FAA has established a program for carry on bags and pax weights due to the beech1900 accident in CLT. The AC-120-70D defines the program to use for a large cabin aircraft, medium or small. The program basically allows the air carrier to decide on the policy they use. PSA goes for the non carry on policy to get the most weight . PSA also includes the Crewmember weights including bags in the OEW. Some silly rule that the bags have to be in overhead bins such and such.

Anyway if you are curious here is the reference for it. You would think an airline would want a uniform policy for the express carriers. I am sure that each express carrier is resposible for their own program thus the change in policy from one RJ to the next.

a. [FONT=AJKPBF+TimesNewRomanPSMT,Times New Roman PSMT][FONT=AJKPBF+TimesNewRomanPSMT,Times New Roman PSMT]An operator with a no-carry-on bag program may allow passengers to carry only personal items aboard the aircraft. Because these passengers do not have carry-on bags, an operator may use standard average passenger weights that are 6 pounds lighter than those for an operator with an approved carry-on bag program. See Table 3-2.

Yep, thats exactly how it goes for me. The plane is half empty, it fits under the seat just fine but I can't take it on. Yet I see the crew rolling bags in the overheads when I get on. So obviously they are allowed if the flight crew does it.

Just put a yellow tag on it. My bag has several at all times.

I can't wait for Part Deux.

Our F/A's have been getting in crap from the higher ups to stop people bringing carry-ons onboard. This is just another example of how management doesn't know how things work in the real world. FAA is guilty as well. It's our POI that mandates what bags go where.
PSA does have some of the worst F/A's (And Mainline). But that is what you get when you pay people $20/year.

While I'm sure the flight attendant had some issues, it seems that miss innocent has a little bit of a reputation already.

From IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0544104/bio

"In both "Survivor: Outback" and "Survivor: All-Stars" combined, she had a total of 19 votes cast against her, making her the all-time leader in votes cast against in "Survivor" history.
Earned her nickname "The Roaring Bitch" because she would do anything and everything in her power to make the lives of her fellow tribemates miserable and doing as little as possible around the Ogakor/Baramundi camps.
She was eventually voted out of the Barmundi tribe because she was lazy and overly confident.
In Survivor games, she voted for Tina Wesson twice. First in the Australian Outback, she voted for Wesson to be the Sole Survivor and in All-Stars she voted against Wesson because she had already won the million bucks!"

There probably is another side to this story. Probably the truth

is this person a pilot? "holding back tears" because the big bad FA won't let me do what I want to?!?!? seriously?

Just what everyone needs piloting them around in a jet

I'll go out on a limb and say there is WAAAAYYYY more to that story!

She doesn't exactly sound like the upstanding person she makes herself out to be. I don't buy it either.
