The pilots took a 39% paycut in Dec. 2002 and lost most of their pension. They also moved the -320 fleet pay to the same scale of the -300 fleet , effectively making it all the same fleet as far as pay scales go. Pension and retirement packages are virtually nonexistent and their is a looming fear (not of bankruptcy) but of managements pillage of the next coveted benefits.
747 pay is the same as 777. Top 747 Captain now makes less than his most senior FO before bankruptcy. Same for 767. Almost a 50% cut if you were on the 747 or 767. Sucks!
Not sure. There are no 1st year f/o's. But the top capt at United makes under 220hr. It's a 6 year contract! Do a search or look at airlinepilotcontracts.com and it shows the exact contract.
