Hello, I am a new member trying to return to general aviation at the end of a long career. I retired from a major Air Line in 2022. Went three years without flying, thinking I would never fly again. Last year I was offered the opportunity to fly the perfect retirement job in a Citation X. Now, I am trying ti get reacquainted with GA, my how things have changed! Thank you for the opportunity.😛

I would suggest the AOPA program "Back To Your Routes". It provides a webinar, an online course, and guide for pilots that return to GA from an airline career in which they stopped flying general aviation. Initial training for your type rating will cover the rest. Your experience will be a valuable asset to your new employer as long as you bring humility along with it.

Do keep in mind that your Citation X job involves flight planning and filing, face to face customer relations, baggage handling, cleaning the cabin and toilet, arranging all customer service (catering, special requests, ground transportation), aircraft handling arrangements, customs arrangements, crew ground transportation and lodging, and many other details regarding the flight. If you keep in mind that you are entering the world of blue collar work, your transition will be easier.
