I was looking at the newest Jepp chart. It is amazing the difference. The old chart shows taxiway A ending at Rwy 22. The new chart shows taxiway A ending at Rwy 26.

Just think.... You could leave on a five day trip on a Tuesday. New charts could be distributed later that day, or possibly the next day with a revision that could possibly be a life saver. Could the electronic flight kit prevent this scenario?

I don't see how as EFBs need to be updated just like anything else.

EFBs can be updated wirelessly with the right hardware anytime the ship in its base. And since every ship visits it's base just about every day, while a crew may not, EFBs might have made a difference.

That seems like quite a big deal. I saw the news story saying they had an old chart but I didn't realise they had made such significant change at LEX. Haven't been there in ages. Hmmmm.....

Was the plate they had out of date? Or did the new revision take affect AFTER the crash?

IOW, the new plate did not come out until after a week after the crash. The chart that they had was current, it was just not correct.

Also, at least in our Jepp packs (at XJT), the airport diagram is now on a page by itself (i.e. much larger) and the runway info- HIRLs, VASI, etc, is on the back. Before- all on one.
