Hey guys,

After only 1 month of completing my cfi ride, I got a new job offer. I will be leaving the instructor world (before it ever really began for me) and become an aerial photographer. I will be flying the mighty C152!

I have been working dispatch the past month and I have really enjoyed it. Although I was looking forward to instructing, I did not know when I would get to fly. It could have been september, or perhaps even until after christmas.

This new job will allow me to start flying right away, where I will log over 100 hours per month on a descent month. I will be flying a lot, which is really good because I will be busy. I am excited to begin flying again, and even more excited to be receiving money to fly! I did not meet the 300 hour requirement (I only have 260tt with 30 multi), but my friend got me the interview. This friend is also someone who I met on another aviation forum, believe it or not.

Anyways, if anyone has done aerial work in the past, I would love to hear some advice and comments on the job.

Thanks again to everyone for answering my questions over the years and good luck to everybody in their careers!

Chris.

congradulations on your new job. your hard work has been rewarded. your times are good but i recommend looking for some turbine time. when i had your time i was flying a be 1900 airliner. maybe you should be looking forward instead of side ways. this is often hard to do when there is so little movement but keep up the good work and you will be flying the beavy iron in no time.

Flying for who....Gulfstream? or some other pft? Gimme a break. You have 507 hours and it shows. The 1900 is far from "beavy iron." I think you meant heavy. Maybe you should look behind you instead of forward. You might be surprised who's back there.

Good luck, Chris

Asquared is your man. He used to fly aerial re-con in a U-2 over Cuba.

Or was it a C-310 over Puerto Rico?

I can't remember. Enjoy your new job.

Mav is back. I missed the little Cock-Sucker. Just a flaim-baiting POS who trys to get under everyones skin. Welcome back MAV. And you can be my wing man any day.

Congratulations, Chris

Is "beavy" iron anything like a bevy of quail?

Now, on to things more positive . . . .

You have made great progress since you started training and posting. You deserve to be proud of yourself.

There's nothing stopping you from instructing on the side, assuming you have the time and no duty time problems. You will learn far more than you could ever imagine, even part-time. And, down the road, instructing experience looks great on the resume.

Keep up the good work. Keep us updated.

Its a step in the right direction, and like you said your getting paid to fly, and building up alot of hrs too. Welldone i'm sure you deserve it

Goodluck

Dude, don't you know that people are to beaten down, jaded, cynical, and bitter to appreciate a young pilot getting his first professional job?

Hey, they are paying you to fly instead of the other way around.

Congratulations.

Yea...but how does that compare to the fact that he could ALREADY be an FO on a Beech 1900 for only $30k! :D

Can a 152 fly close enough to them aerials to get a really good photo? :)

Hahaha...good luck...try to get some CFI time in the books if you can, you won't regret it.
